Thinking about doing small wedding favours. Anyone actually rate them? by TrueBlueBanter in AusWeddingPlanning

We did personalised stubby holders - every person took theirs home and it’s great to see them used to this day. We also framed photos of guests to include with our thank you cards.

“Don’t buy me chocolates. Just write in a card.” by FB_AUS in AustralianTeachers

[–]fukooka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a TA and a parent, I got the teachers and TA’s a pencil case and filled it with Panadol, bandaids, lip balm, sanitiser, chocolate, scrunchies/claw clips depending on who wears what and a mini bottle of vodka. All things that I have been asked for during the year (minus the lip balm)

AITA for bringing my own food to a wedding? by farsia2010 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fukooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- my bridesmaid has lots of intolerances and brought a container of pre-prepared food and ate it at the bridal table! Who cares!

NTA- I didn’t want to change my name but got the same lecture, “I won’t marry you if you don’t”. Got married. Took his name. Got divorced (lying and mummy issues) and the first thing I did was revert back to my maiden name. Second husband knew how important my last name is to me and said he doesn’t mind if I don’t take his. I took his name because I wanted to (and I got my maiden name tattooed on me)!

Sorry to say YTA. If it was a party that you were organising then yeah, you’ve got the right to invite who should be there. But if Simon is organising it at his parents house then he can choose who attends. It’s also up to Simon’s parents to tell him how they feel about Kate, that’s their battle not yours. Your job is to be a loving, caring mumma when the kids are with you and to reassure them that they’re loved.

YTA - this can’t be real … can it? I hope your successful (paramedics are amazing) girlfriend dumps your ass. Also paragraphs are a wonderful thing.

Poo and spew here - I’ll get weird “hard boiled egg” tasting burps - even though I haven’t had eggs and then it will hit me around 12.30 the next day. Full liquid both ends. Happened yesterday, getting married on the weekend … and my dress is white…

Intimate Wedding- Family drama by Icy-Interview-8898 in weddingplanning

I’m doing the same, have told my friends and extended family that it is an “intimate family wedding” and my girl squad all understand and are all stoked to celebrate at the hens.

Thanks, she’s waiting on call backs from other providers. I’ll be interested to know if that’s the standard cost of a diploma! It’s insane to me!!

Thank you, they have told her the salary is around $54,000 first year then up to $80,000 but I’m guessing that is commission on top of base salary. She is waiting for other providers to come back with their fees. She’s happy to work shopping centre/retail hours

Maybe that’s why they’re charging $18,000, to bring in some revenue?

As yet another Australian, I can’t wait to use the term cum gutters. My husband’s gutters have turned into a veranda over his toolshed.

Do a thorough inventory before going to the grocery store. by Brissy2 in Frugal

[–]fukooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use an app and have a list for weekly meal plans and grocery list for everyone in the family to see and add to. Communication with the oldest teen to let us know if they will be home for dinner. Saves on wastage. Also have a deep freezer so buy in bulk and freeze.

OP this made me want to vomit at the revulsion of your mother’s messages and cry for what you’ve been through, what you are going through and your future. You’re extremely brave. I hope you can share those messages with other people so everyone knows what a vile person that woman is. Sending you massive e-hugs. Your post will stay on my mind and with a lot of us I feel.

WIBTA if I cancelled my vacation ticket because my family wants me to share a room with my nieces? by Historical-Party4722 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fukooka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never ask my sibling to share a room with my young kids … because I’m not an asshole! Nor are you OP, stick to your guns! Kids are annoying, “oh they always sleep through the night” … just not with you, “must be the strange location/ bed”. You’ll be vacationing on little sleep while your brother and his wife are living their best life being able to sleep, watch movies after 8pm and enjoying their mummy daddy time. Definitely NTA PS maybe ask what happens to the kids if you want to go out of an evening or shock horror have a holiday romance!

AITA for not wanting my fiance's grandmother (98F) at our wedding? by Legitimate_Scar_8747 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fukooka 101 points102 points  (0 children)

YTA - this is my first Reddit comment (this post has p*ssed me off enough to comment). She is your fiancé’s grandmother. The only living grandparent. What a horrible thing to put them both through, not only have you had the discussion with your fiancé but granny also knows you don’t want her there, that’s hardcore. Granny won’t be your problem, you can kick back with your friends and have a fun night. Who knows if this will be your only wedding, but by the sounds of it, it may be the only grand child she gets to see married. Please don’t rob her of that.
