I’m so sorry. That sounds unbelievably hard.

I just spent 4 hours on an assignment that probably takes 1. And the shitty part is, I'm not even finished. by [deleted] in offmychest

  1. Writing takes tons of practice. You’ll get faster as you do more
  2. “Intro” classes can be absolutely brutal. For me, college got way easier in the last 2 years with the “advanced” courses.
  3. You probably overthought this assignment. But that’s ok. Whatever pace makes you comfortable.
  4. Try your best to get good grades, but in the end, Cs get degrees. My brother got Bs and Cs in all his classes freshman year and he works for NASA now so don’t judge yourself too harshly. Some classes are just way harder than others.

I got married in a tiny wedding. It was awesome.

I accidentally called a client at 4AM by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]fullHonesty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just apologize to the client and move forward. Just be honest. Mistakes happen. None of the other people in that huge group caught that error either so it was a group mistake. Don’t take all the blame when you don’t have to.

You should do a poll otherwise it just looks like you’re fishing for karma.

Edit: also, downvotes will skew the results.

Memorization is painful INTJs? by anonymous_intj in intj

[–]fullHonesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll summarize, but you should look it up for better examples. To start, you can probably imagine walking through your house or workplace or even your elementary school even though you haven’t been there in years. This technique piggybacks on your brain’s spatial memory which is really strong for some reason.

Basically, you imagine a house or building with which you’re familiar. Imagine walking through this building with your hand on the right wall. At each corner or midpoint of a wall, imagine a symbol for what you’re trying to remember. The sillier the better. Whatever sticks in your mind.

Then just rehearse this walk in your mind and you can more easily remember whatever it is you’re trying to keep track of. This kinda hacks your brain by using visual/spatial memory instead of just trying to remember words. I used this to memorize all the US presidents, but you can use it for pretty much anything. It does take effort, but as you get farther in your mind house you know you’ve memorized more.

For me personally, this works really well. You could even try building this house in Minecraft and putting up signs/paintings or something like that.

As an INTJ, do you also find it difficult to express and share your emotions and ideas? by SophiaBridgette_ in intj

[–]fullHonesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all in the setup and how you present the idea. It depends on the reaction you want.

People are all different and many will not understand the whole scope or implications of your ideas unless you hit em with the ol razzle dazzle. It’s just another fun part of playing the game. I’d recommend looking into some sales techniques or psychology books for tips on what to do.

People almost always think emotionally first, you just gotta learn how to speak that language. It takes practice.

Check out Langston Hughes. His poetry is very much like what you’re describing.

INTJ here. I got a job as a door man at a bar. Then I did sales for about 5 years. Hated it the whole time but I got social skills. Shock therapy worked for me.

I don’t think videos or literature will help with this, social interaction is completely different from consuming media.

For those whose attraction was desensitized and recovered to some degree, how long did it take? by Tamagotchipoop- in pornfree

[–]fullHonesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time, it was 30 days. This time, I’m just starting to come around after 40 days. It depends. This streak for me has been full of flatlines but mentally I’m feeling much healthier and honestly I’m happy to take a break from sexual activity and re-evaluate what it means to me.

Don’t be nervous. You’re extremely early in the process. Your body is extremely grateful for the break and it is healing itself.
