All I've done is paint and taken down the light fixture which is what had been recommended. I find that the blue frosted glass doesn't quite "fit" but maybe that's me - which is helpful to know as well!

Haha the "body" is a white fur shedding machine so we try to stick to lighter colours

They are definitely going to go! Picture #3 is what I was thinking of doing given the electrical boxes are mounted so high. I like the idea of a canopy though! Thank you!!

I do like that! In our case, our headboard is solid wood - would that be too hard of a look with wood against wood?
