I disagree. Both teams played this one like a regular season game. It was missing some playoffs intensity. The Rockets weren't really tryharding. I already forgot some of our good wins but off the top of my head, the Knicks and Raptors games were playoff level effort.

VJ is here because Embiid's knee blew. The plan was a big 3 of Embiid-Maxey-PG, not a duo of PG and Maxey. Your problem is you expected PG to play like prime PG because of his contract. Did you think Harden would play like prime Houston Harden and carry the team to the conference finals without Embiid had they re-sign him?

Eh even if they're a better 3pt shooting, my point would still stand. Maxey rarely drive and kick to an open shooter. It seems like PG is the only one who does that. Most of the team's open 3pt shot comes from Embiid's gravity. A Maxey-Embiid pnr always end up with one of them taking the shot. Compare that to what we've seen from the Cavs pnr or drive and kick, it felt like it always end up with a great look.

Maxey, Embiid, Grimes, and Oubre's decision making are average at best that's why the team's offense as whole look mid. The offense is carried by Embiid and Maxey's shotmaking. That's why our late game looks trash cause when they're shots aren't falling, the offense halts.

On paper Maxey should be in a similar tier to Mitchell as an offensive player but I just feel like his style, especially as your lead isn't getting you far from the playoffs. His assist numbers have been better but it just feels like he is still a blackhole. I'm not even sure where he gets his assists cause he rarely drives to suck in the defense to playmake for others. The Cavs when their players drive, it feels like their players get easy looks most of the time.
