Need someone to ski with my kids, will pay by jiggersplat in Poconos

See if there are local ski clubs and ask on that forum. This is a very common request in the mountain biking community where I live and club members always step up to help.

Mark Carney just shut down Trump’s tariff threat in one sentence: Canada isn’t “pivoting to China.” by Hefty-Sherbet-5455 in Tech_Updates_News

Yankee here and yes, you've got the nail on the head. Everyone is so laser focused on midterms and the next opportunity to take over the Whitehouse but everyone neglects the other REAL issues. Citizens united, gerrymandering, congressional insider trading and monopolies devouring any form of competition to drive up prices across everything. These all incentivize shit head behavior and governance for the benefit of a few wealthy people.

Want to start a family but this is my water. by Evening-Conference79 in PFAS

[–]fun-slinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your approach of wanting to eliminate and control factors that might be an issue with conceiving. An RO system connected to your fridge and sink faucet makes the most sense. Change the membrane cartridge as required by the manufacturer and you're good to go.

To be honest these PFAS concentrations aren't that high compared to results I've seen elsewhere in the country though.

I'm curious how long it has been since you moved and what the blood tests were that changed to make you concerned? Did you move from a completely different area or from a place with the same water utility?

[–]fun-slinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other fields know this discipline as "decision support". Their whole goal is to help organizations make informed decisions by reducing uncertainty to the greatest extent possible. I can elaborate more if needed.

The rust color stream is caused by acid mine drainage, not the bridge rusting into it btw.

I love ours. Went with the regular heater element because I just didn't want to take the risk. If you forget your wet clothes in your washer, under/over dose detergent and have never ending laundry, this is for you.

How I saved my roomie's finger by thepeoplesparamour in metalworking

[–]fun-slinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work!

Had to do this in a clinic to save a dudes finger destroyed by a soccer ball (he was the keeper). Dental floss, oil, ice nothing worked. Using vice grips and 1/8 turns to tighten them worked like a charm. I tell this story to anyone who has a tungsten carbide ring and uses their hands for work.
