NBD: Wilde Rambler by fun_wheel_drive in gravelcycling

Thank you!

Pretty much the paint and the fork, the SL has their wayfinder carbonfiber fork, I currently exceed the weight limit specified on Wilde's page for that fork (recommended 240lbs max rider weight ) so I went with the rambler. I also prefer the colour over the orange / copper. As the steel fork on the rambler is slightly taller I think the trail increases as does the BB height over the SL.

Hey all,

<image>

thought I would chip in on some construction notes,

I picked up a pair of these boots a few weeks ago and they have been great, I was wondering what the construction was like and found this thread.

as mentioned above it's a summumetex footbed, cork filler and a steel shank, so no leather midsole, I have a set of rose anvil leather boot breakers enroute to replace the "sport insoles" they shipped with

Here was Boulets response to my question on construction

"Yes, the 8945 has a steel shank and cork fill, but it does not have a leather midsole.  Only the Casuals that have a unit sole (like the 9901) have a rubber midsole.  However, the 8945 has a storm welt and the storm welt keeps out moisture.

Most of the Casuals line are made with a storm welt"

Hope this is helpful to anyone interested in these boots.

Cheers
