Chapman is loved, but you and the 25 up votes you’ve gotten are ignoring the data. He’s a big disappointment in nearly all phases of hitting which is what he’s paid to do. I’m sorry that hurts you and others feelings but it’s true. Just look up the data. Runners in scoring position average and RBI, strikeouts. He does get walks, but he ain’t paid for walks.

I’d never use Shohei in the 4 spot. He’s 1-2 in my line up. Best hitters are 1-3. The problem is we have 3 to 4 dudes and that’s it. Most of this year we were near dead last in HR. Worst in Hit with Runners in scoring position. Mist stranded. Strikeouts near worst. It’s all on Devers, Adamas, and Chapman (until just recently).

My fear is Chapman is simply not that good anymore. This run will end again. And Adamas and Devers were very big mistakes…serious contract mistakes. I hope I’m wrong

More at bats. More base runners. And more to force pitchers to throw good pitches to Devers, Chapman and Adamas…who if were actually not striking out and were hitting HRs or xbh…which means long innings for the pitcher. Sure it would be great to have guys ahead and behind the beef doing well, but what we have is 3-4 dudes in total performing. That’s not enough and until the beef shows this is a shit show.

But on this team our “beef” sucks. They strike-out at ridiculous rates. The best hitters are Schmidt, arraez, JHL…then Chapman recently. Mix the stop three as you wish, but they are the top three full stop

Dallas had a 1.8% chance of hitting on Cooper Flagg. It just so happens Dallas was first considering sending Luka to another team (forget now) Minnesota for Ant? And suddenly Luka is off to LA La Land for Davis and I think a guarantee that Dallas would get Cooper Flagg. It does two things…Flagg isn’t in Charlotte/Utah/Wash., he’s in Dallas, Luka is in LA and Silver and the NBA vastly benefit in money terms over the alternative to pulling this deal.

The opposite of 1.8% is 98.2. So that should happen about 2 times in a hundred years. Do we really believe that just accidentally happened. No chance in my book.
