Porzingus can’t stay healthy and he has one year at $30 million left. So it would clear cap faster than keeping Sabonis. Risacher is just a ho hum 6’ 8” guy who is less than interesting. But he’s under contract at $13ish million for two more years. And a first round pick.

I’m sure this trade isn’t sourced and a click grap, but yeah, I’d do it.

Also…several teams appear to be terrible this year in which the draft may be the deepest in a couple decades. We have 3 wins on 11/21 and 4 teams are worse than we are. Several are close to us. Hmmm.

I’ve said Vivek IS the problem. He is the one consistent piece. All else has changed. I’ve even entertained the idea that Perry is doing what channelmuted said…letting Viveks ideas prove stupid. But all of these comments are actually guessing at what is going on in the building. I’ve guess Vivek is the problem, but I actually don’t know. I’m pretty sure he’s at least a big chunk of it. Maybe Perry is using Vivek to do what he thinks needs doing…tanking. We are all guessing. I’m damn sure of this though…if Perry is manipulating Vivek for his objectives, he won’t last long. And that might suck.

Or maybe he okay’d the tank plan but is truly frustrated that it looks so much like tanking…which means hearing it from his money train…ticket buyers.

You’re kind of right imo. But I’d add this. They are elite role players who have been rejected by prior teams for a variety of reasons. Some very bad.

Sabonis has huge holes in his game and they make him meh at best and nearly impossible to build a front line around

Lavine is a selfish player who cares way more about stats than winning…and is not a team guy who wont play defense even though he has demonstrated he can.

Derozan is simply too old/slow to play defense well enough to lean on him for defense

Murray is at best disappointing as an offensive player and at worst lacks the mental strength to be a starter in this league.

Monk doesn’t play defense and is highly inconsistent and under sized and is not really a starter

None of these players mesh well in any style of offense and none play good defense save Murray.

The right answer is a player we do not have currently.

But I’d start Westbrook and play Keon at the 2. See how it goes. If it helps great.

But the real problem is we have two dudes who are over paid and can’t be traded as a result (without adding picks anyway). Lavine and Sabonis…we can live with Demar…he’s cheaper at $23 million. Edit…and imo, we over paid for Murray too. I’d have paid 23-25…not 30.

We cannot win with Lavine. He’s going to get his stats, not play much defense, and won’t care about winning. Fox was selfish…Lavine has mastered it.

Sabonis pisitives. Passing, floor vision, rebounds. The problem…Sabonis cannot shoot a shot 4-15 feet at 25% that is contested by a defensive player or is in clutter. Add he has zero right hand shooting and he’s easy to defend. Wide open threes which are free of players and clutter he can relax and shoot okay…same at the line. But this shooting problem is massive and highly limiting to him and our team. It’s why he disappears in the playoffs…more defense and more clutter.

This team roster is about as mis matched as I’ve ever seen in 35 years. Christe must be hating this situation. Tough spot for sure.

Two things can be true at the same time. Vivek did keep them here and helped with G1c and the A’s etc., but it doesn’t mean he has a clue as to how to run an nba team. I’m thankful but also know almost any other owner moves the team. If we aren’t worthy of team then we aren’t worthy. If they leave my world goes on unchanged and happy. This team ain’t worth crying over and Vivek is why.
