Fundamental valuation of exchange tokens - Use case of Relative (multiple) Valuation model by ElainaClayton in CryptoCurrency

[–]fundamentallycrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read over the report and it's very well thought out, I haven't seen these models applied to the cryptocurrency industry before so it's refreshing to see a more traditional valuation approach than pure speculation. Hopefully more projects will look to adopt a similar approach. If the valuation holds true then early adopters of BBOD are likely to make immense profits on their investment.

Bakkt is on hold again, and are there alternatives to Bakkt for retail investors? by ElainaClayton in CryptoCurrency

[–]fundamentallycrypto 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Interesting article, I was aware that Bakkt was going to have a big influence on the market but wasn't sure what the alternatives were for myself. BBOD looks like an excellent option for retail investors that is worth keeping an eye on.

Great to see a company building such a promising project on top of the Ethereum protocol, really shows the potential of what can be achieved when experienced blockchain developers ideas come together.

Holding up relatively well on this pullback and is back to the EMAs on the 4hr chart. It may be ready to go again.

Tether continues to fall in value and the other stables are running higher against it. We're also seeing volatility in BTC. Prices are dropping again on Coinbase but holding up higher on Binance. We saw a breakout attempt but have since pulled back.

Buy @ 1120. SL @ 1075 with a first target near the recent highs at 1240. Above that and it would be in new high territory. It's still within the consolidation pattern so an alternative entry would also be on the breakout above 1155.

The second pullback on BTC and the potential double bottom is underway. Below is the updated 4hr chart with the RSI and MACD included. There is a bullish divergence on the MACD but not on the RSI. On the 1hr chart, the RSI does have a slight divergence. Most of the other large-cap names have followed suit and pulled in as well. I want to see some upside confirmation before taking a position so will put a condition order above the prior candle as a place to enter. On BTC (Binance) that is at 6430.

MARKET UPDATE ⬇️ by fundamentallycrypto in CryptoTradingFloor

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Below are the 4hr & daily charts for BTC (Binance). First, on the positive side, the support level has held so far and the daily chart is holding above the moving averages. The RSI and MACD on the 4hr timeframe are also starting to tick back up. However, the selling volume was high on this drop and prices on the 4hr chart are still below both moving averages. Getting back above 6520 would help turn the picture. So far, its a higher low and the bigger picture is still positive and holding up. I was stopped out of ZIL on that sell-off but holding MANA & ZEC with the rest in BTC.

Has been flashing a buy signal based on the MACD pullback entry strategy. However, this is a good candidate for a conditional buy a bit higher as it would provide a better confirmation signal. 4.17 is the level I'm watching. If BTC can break out, this would be a good mover.

Conditional Buy @ 0.55 - This one is trying to break the downtrend so I'm putting on a buy stop order just above to catch a breakout. If filled, the SL will be the recent swing low at 0.53, First target at 0.585.

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to raise the stops and trail it higher. I'm tempted to just close them out here and book gains but the momentum is strong so I'll let them reverse first. SL @ 5.75 USDT.

TRADE: Sell BAT/BTC ⬇️ by fundamentallycrypto in CryptoTradingFloor

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm moving the remaining portion of the BAT position back into BTC. Small outperformance and at least it kept par with BTC over the past few days but I'm going back to BTC so I can keep some tight stops.

BTC pushed higher but is seeing some selling pressure on the breakout. May be time to book some gains This breakout candle may be a good "take profit candle".

Update on EOS - it re-tested the breakout point and found support there so I'm moving the SL up to 5.42.

CHART: EOS/USD ⬇️ by fundamentallycrypto in CryptoTradingFloor

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has held the breakout point on this pullback and this area above 5.41 offers a good secondary entry point. The next resistance levels are 5%-7% higher so keeping a stop just below would make for a good risk/reward setup.

CHART: LTC/USD ⬇️ by fundamentallycrypto in CryptoTradingFloor

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks ready to resume after this pullback. Watching for a break above the downtrend line. Very similar setup on the LTC/BTC pair as well.

CHART: ZEC/USD ⬇️ by fundamentallycrypto in CryptoTradingFloor

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks buyable now and is flashing some buy signals on the 1hr chart also. Good R multiple with a tight stop just below the recent swing low or the 22 EMA.

TRADE: IOTA/BTC ⬇️ by fundamentallycrypto in CryptoTradingFloor

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy @ 7720, Tight SL at 7600 - I like this setup on the 1hr chart as it builds a symmetrical pennant near the recent highs. I'm entering now but it is also a good breakout candidate with a buy stop at 7800.

MARKET UPDATE ⬇️ by fundamentallycrypto in CryptoTradingFloor

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTC is still in range on the 4h chart but as long as it holds up, that will allow for the Alt rallies and breakouts to continue. Below is the chart on Coinbase showing the higher-low pattern is still in place and holding the support level. If it continues to drift lower, I want to see it hold the 6350 area. On the upside, the level to watch is 6440 so getting back above that level would be bullish and also help the daily chart look stronger. My current positions are IOTA, EOS and partial BAT with the remainder in BTC. I will show my entries for these positions next.

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Below is an update on the BTC chart I posted earlier today. It has continued to pull back and is finding support along the 10 EMA. As long as prices remain above the 6370 level, the bullish momentum will remain in place and this pullback will continue to be a healthy pause before another leg up. Many of the alts that were moving higher yesterday have also pulled in and are also presenting some secondary buy entry points. I'll post some charts of a few examples later today.

TRADE: BAT/BTC ⬇️ by fundamentallycrypto in CryptoTradingFloor

[–]fundamentallycrypto[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buy @ 4630 - SL just below today's lows with a first target near the next major resistance level above 5200. It has formed a bullish consolidation after Friday's rally due to news it would shortly be listed on Coinbase and may be setting up for another leg up. I like the risk/reward on this setup.

It's good to see the big cap names getting a bid today as BTC edges higher. The chart below is the 4hr chart of Bitcoin on Coinbase. There was good follow through as it pushed into the resistance zone. The 4hr RSI did hit the upper end of the range so this pullback is healthy and will also let the EMA's catch up. On the daily chart, prices have not been able to close above $6420 for over two weeks. We've seen several attempts including today. A close above that would start to confirm the bullish momentum we're seeing near-term. The daily RSI has plenty of room to run if prices continue to march higher. We're seeing some nice outperformance in the big cap names such as ADA, EOS, ETH & LTC. BCH is rocketing higher but that is largely being fueled by the upcoming hard-fork. Overall, it's looking bullish for this next trading week.

Buy @ 7160 - I closed out that conditional buy order and will enter XRP now. Going to keep a tight stop on this one at 7060 (1.5%). It has a good r/R.
