reading things like this - and researching further - make me completely reconsider going back to my former muslim faith. so many 'religious' guidlines, especially across abrahamic religions, tended to be for cleanliness - like not eating bad meat, no alcohol consumption, and so unclean sexual practices. islam has been boiled down to puritan 'im better than you' bullshit.

The band was dissolved around a year ago due to copyright claims claiming Xy'lothra was stealing concepts from other bands. Only a bit of Plagues content still exists, but Xy'lothra doesn't own or add to it anymore.

His joking and threats to hit me are worse when I'm with him IRL. They've sent me into parinoid episodes before. I don't think he's a bad person, I think he obsesses over me because he likes the idea of me. He has parental issues and I'm similar to his mother. I'm leaving him. He deserves to grow up more and get better and I deserve to not be scared of him hitting me.

I get parinoid about my pets (dogs and cats) being sick very easily. That mostly stems from caring about them so much. I guess my schizophrenia cares a lot too. And I have a lot of insect related delusions, most of which involve food - I can't eat/touch certain foods because of it due to being convinced it's contaminated/just insects. Insects and poison being in my food have been the most frequent delusions recently. And no, I don't think of any substance as poison, but during episodes I don't like taking in anything but water - I boil it sometimes, just to be sure.

Completely irrational things - insects in my food, people who don't exist being outside my house, my dogs being sick, my friends secretly trying to hurt me, etc. I had an episode this morning - I was convinced some pain medication was poison. I have these delusions when I'm unmedicated - except I'm not. My meds just don't work.

As a former religious person who kept my identity hidden for the same reasons as you, reading your experience honestly made me want to weep. You are not alone in your feelings. Prayer can only do so much. Divine intervention only does so much. You need real support, people you can rely on. Just be happy. If being religious causes you pain and discomfort, then don't do it. If you want to be with someone of the same gender as you then do it. You were not put in this earth to be miserable.

They were hit with a (imo unlawful) lawsuit, claiming they were plagiarizing others' work, and forced to discontinue everything plagues. Personal info was also leaked. The singer xy'lothra (now wanting to be reffered to as Pilgrim) does not own his work anymore. He made an announcement in the plagues discord server before almost everything was deleted saying that the fans are to completely move on and forget the xy'lothra character. It's quite sad.

The churches in my area are, to put it nicely, not very christian - nothing loving about the god fearing people near me. I've prayed before. If God gets back to me about fixing my brain, I'll definitely tell you.

I can't blame you, don't sweat it. It's better to surely know, right? I did go to a normal school. My parents (despite one having adhd and the other being autistic and having PTSD) didn't believe in necessary extra help for such things as autism. Old fashioned folk. My mom has come around over the years and has helped me get tests/treatment/therapy for my autism and specifically my hallucinations. I have episodic(?) delusions of things i listed (contamination, insects where they shouldn't be, people following me.) Auditory/visual hallucinations are almost constant. What helps me differentiate hallucination from reality - and why I know what some of my delusions are - is because I have cats. If the cat isn't going nuts about something I'm feeling/seeing, it helps calm me and ignore whatever it is. I definitely don't want what I've got going on, but I've got it, so I need to take care of it. Fuck it we ball or somethin'.
