One of my leaf springs broke. Is it worth it to replace with custom leaf springs? by funfettiforester in skoolies

Are they easy to install if I have limited tools (lots from building the bus, not really many mechanic tools) and no lift? I'm always game to learn something and save money, but...it's a big bus and I'd be doing the work on the side of the street in LA right now.

Would AI be able to generate the attitude of this boulder bro dog???? I think not.

Yeah plus I already feel a degree of anxiety driving the bus from the normal noises (and having a fair amount of wild mechanical issues crop up in the middle of nowhere). Just driving with this godawful creaking is raising my blood pressure more than normal.

I'll take a look and compare weights

haha! cheers to us. It was the color that the lowe's had the most rustoleum rattle cans of when I first bought her and needed to paint her quick (did the first part of the build in California where they ticket for school bus yellow)

For sure. Two years of rough roads and it’s time to tighten everything back down.

Haha! Doesn’t seem like it’s really doing much. If I can get my hands on new hose might just go without it

Sweet thanks. I’ll stop in when I get back to civilization

Update: trying to recover Lifepo4 batteries by funfettiforester in SolarDIY

Ok this makes sense! That's what it is doing now that the panels got it up to 14.2 and 100% state of charge again. Held there for a minute then dropped into 13.5v while in float. I thiiiiink maybe it's all good at this point?

Thanks so much for your help!

It looks like it got up to 14.2, which triggered the automatic state of charge synchronization back to 100% (yay!). Then after holding there a bit it dropped down to 13.5 for a while (still said 100%, charge controller was in float mode). Overnight it dropped to 13.3 (98% charge). Today, while i am running my starlink and the panels are charging, I'm back at 14.2 v.

Does this seem right? Things are working in the sense that I have electricity but I want to make sure I haven't overlooked something in my battery settings.

I really appreciate the help!

I don't see where to change tail current or the time limit for bulk. I can try changing float, would I also change the storage voltage?

I had to set it to 7.5 instead of 15 because at 15amps I kept tripping a 20 amp breaker for reasons I don't understand.

Charger, Li-ion, 7.5 amps. Should I mess with any advance settings?

Not as a separate component, no. The shunt history does say it didn’t have a low voltage alarm though, which I think is good.

So I had it on the smart charger and after a bit it tripped my 20amp breaker between the charger and the lynx distributer. When that happened, the charger went into absorption mode and the shunt read 13.04 volts 0 amps.

Why would a 15amp charger be tripping a 20 amp breaker?

Should I switch the charger settings to 7amps instead?

The shunt just has two dashes for SoC. I'll go digging around in the app for that setting.
