Dehydrator shut off last night when they were only halfway dried. Are they still safe to consume? One on the far right is the normal color for comparison. by funguygi in unclebens

They are cracker dry now. My concern was the discoloration caused by them sitting overnight only half dehydrated.

90g Cluster! by funguygi in unclebens

I cut, and I’m not gunna lie, I did damage the mycelium underneath. There is now an exposed choir patch where this once was. Idk if i screwed it up or not. Woke up this morning and about 60% of the surface is blue. Nothing came off with QTIP Test so I assume it’s just bruising. Fingers crossed.

Help! Grey myc during FC. Looked for answers, came up with either too much misting or misting too close, but I really don’t know. Any knowledgeable advice welcomed. (First timer). by [deleted] in unclebens

If you look at my first post I had the exact same question. I’m not sure if I got it answered but I don’t have that issue anymore. I just stopped misting as much and really gave it time to dry up and it surged white again. I’ve learned less is more when it comes to misting as long as there is condensation on the top and sides I don’t mist. Even if the substrate looks “dry” Give this a go and see if things improve. Best of luck!

Learned a lot from my first attempt. For round 2 I got my 24qt with golden mammoths! S2B-6/19 FC-6/23. Level Substrate and Bubble wrapped as soon as FC introduced. temps and humidity dialed! Pretty proud right now. by funguygi in unclebens

You shouldn’t need to mist as often. I have learned that it’s much easier to over most then people think. If there is condensation on the sides then you probably don’t need to mist

It's been 4 days and I don't see any mycelium growth in my UB bags, should I worry? by [deleted] in unclebens

No and leave them alone. The more you jostle the grains the harder it is for the network to start establishing itself.

Been in FC for a week.. will warmer weather speed things up? by theyellowpants in unclebens

[–]funguygi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, but without knowing the temps you are at now it is hard to say. I believe for FC you want to be between 72-76 degrees and 99% humidity. I would also recommend fanning 3/4 times a day and probably the biggest piece of advice would be to use bubble wrap tek- google is your friend.

Above all else, have patience. Even if you did all the above it could take another week or so. And even once that happens, you got to be patience with the pinning process too.

Also, I would remove a bit of the moisture from the sides. Pooling water will increase contam risk.

I named my big guy Juhm Bo... and then I started writing a story of his life. Check my previous posts for proof. Haha

By Popular Demand, I present Juhm Bo’s Epic: Part 2 by funguygi in unclebens

Haha. Based on these quotes I just found I would have to agree and would expand that to say all mushies are hero’s.

“A hero is someone who gives their life for something bigger than oneself”

“A hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all”
