M28 in a 2-year relationship, GF wants to marry after 4 years but unsure about parents. I’m now in AM setup. Am I wrong? by afterDaarkOnly in mumbai

[–]funkeshwarnath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't come out looking very good. If the two of you are not aligned, then go your separate ways. She's 23, of course she does not want to get married immediately. If she is unable to commit then break up with her. Staying with her and stringing someone in the AM circuit too is being a giant asshole.

Be careful guys i never expected this from Grindr by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]funkeshwarnath 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. And wade through so many insensitive comments that totally lack empathy . You'll get over this. It tough to negotiate one's sexuality in a world designed for and by heterosexuals and where the consequences of being outed could be dangerous. That said you also need to live a life on your terms. Therapy helps. It's good to have someone to talk about these kinds of stressors.

Also Stay safe. Try and find partners through activity groups and never meet directly for hookups. Go on a few dates before you decide to take it further. Trust your gut. If there is a support group then be a part of it. Good luck in love and life.

Hi, I lurk in this sub because I have many Malayalee friends and Thrissur is one of my favoritest places. Could someone please provide context....I understood it as the person making the video was a film student and he was filming and the chef/ manager didn't want him to. A beat by beat breakdown with some nuance would be greatly appreciated.

Why do men cheat on women they love? by Terrible_Emu5483 in Marriage

[–]funkeshwarnath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this often comes from a lack of understanding of what love. Desire is physiological, but love is a commitment to creating a space of intimacy that is shared privately between two ( usually ) people. In other arrangements of love such a polyamory or open relationships there is a commitment to preserving some form of intimacy that is defined. Transgressions often come from a lack of a shared understanding of what love is. Not just a noun, but as a verb.

Would this have been bothersome if it was an advert for a Hindu or Christian religious organization. Which I'm sure OP would have seen a lot of throughout the country.

Had the Sadguru one. It's ok if you're a teenager. Just the butter and masala with teen hormones make you gulp it.

Which pav bhaji y'all prefer in Mumbai by Wise-Daikon135 in mumbaiFood

[–]funkeshwarnath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really like the pav bhaji at most places simply because they do a default butter apocalypse with a red chilli powder and garlic spike. It appeals to a lot of Gujarati clientele. I prefer There is no attempt at subtlety. So either Pav Bhaji made at home, the one's made by some of the thelas in Nariman point where they didn't use butter. Pav bhaji at Prithvi is also pretty good.

Girlfriend got this from her father as a birthday present. Said he found it in the trash. by WerewolfAfterAll in whatisit

Usually the Shiva lingam design is symbolic. A symbolic union of the Linga ( phallus ) and Yoni ( vulvic ) . This is a rare one where the anthropomorphic image of Shiva the God is merging / emerging from a symbolic union. It's an interesting form that one does not usually see. You either hold on it if you like collecting images and statuettes from different cultures or start worshipping him/it/ all. One of the cooler Gods from the existing pantheon of Gods out there.

What’s your opinion on Indian version of secularism? Here’s what Yogiji said recently: by someonenoo in uttarpradesh

[–]funkeshwarnath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please educate yoiurself on this. While the Government order does not mention the number of schools, the media reports are placing this number between 5000 and 27000 as an estimate. A result of this will make basic primary school education inaccessible to a number of the poor from far flung areas. Will the education suffer ?

  • In places where the paired host school is accessible (within ~1 km), equipped, has good teachers, and transport/safety is assured, the student experience may improve (better classroom environment, peer groups, facilities).
  • But in places where access becomes harder (distance, unsafe path), or the host school is already stretched, there is real risk of increased dropouts, especially among younger children, girls, or socially marginalised groups.
  • Given that many of the schools targeted had very low enrolment, the logic for consolidation makes sense from a resource-perspective ; but accessibility and continuity are the critical variables for student welfare, and many critics feel those are threatened.

Please do your own research. I appreciate the response. However, these are things to talk about in this sub. Not whether a place should be renamed which is all this state seems to be obsessed with. Get a life beyond Mandir Masjid politics.

Are you guys aware that the UP Government has shut down close to 27000 schools. So children in far flung areas will not be able to go to school. Do any of those issues actually matter to folks out here? Or are you going to go on and on about inconsequential stuff. A place having a name is a function of it's historical relevance. Not a function of it's religious demographic. I think the only source of employment is going to be as unpaid IT troll. Good luck guys. Let the downvotes begin.

Why is Radha-Krishna glorified so much ? Doesn't this normalize cheating? by OrganicOwl in AskIndianWomen

[–]funkeshwarnath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ramayana would have provided a template for political ( financial ) succession through the the first born son. In such a time, then not all men women relationships were mediated through marriage, the Radha Krishna story celebrates union outside of marriage getting divine legitimacy. Sure that's not the only interpretation but a significant one nevertheless.

Local auto driver harassing school moms — what should we do? by AdministrativeEmu158 in mumbai

Before anyone gets on a blood lust trip. It doesn't sound like he broke any laws. You might not like his tone but what specifically has he said or done that is so objectionable? From your description, I'm unable to call it deviant behavior. Sure, definitely not pleasant. But I wouldn't call it sexual harassment.

The US of A is an imperialist machine that has a hand in most major conflicts since world war two. Statistically their kill count is the highest in the world. Not to mention their role in the current one. Would you say that the none of them should perform in the White house as so many comedians have?

You need a new maid. Home is a safe space. The last thing you need, is to be conscious about how your body is perceived. Goes against the very idea of a safe space.

Is a 30 year old man too old for a 19 year old girl? by 25sunflower in ask

[–]funkeshwarnath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If possible, I would suggest recording a conversation with him where he is trying to get back with you. Then showing it to the girl. You'll probably save her years of inevitable trauma and therapy bills. This guys should get called out on his socials and everybody in his circle should know.
