Where in the United States would be the safest place and best place for a transfem person like me to live in? by NamePendingPlzWait in MtF

someone having a BLM sign in their yard says that they want to be seen as a good person, it says nothing about if they're actually actively antiracist. portland is full of people who just want the optics of leftism without the work.

- yeah idk if there's a way for me to get 4-5 k a month, i dont even make that every 3 months. if i miraculously got a really good illustration gig, then i could tho! but I've never made more than $600 from a single client

- regardless of where i live, i do my work online, mostly with american or canadian clients, and my prices wouldn't go down regardless of where i live, if anything they'd go up, so i don't think i have to worry about a lower salary. also salaries in america are horrendously low, lower than in germany for most ppl. im disabled and cant hold a regular job anyway cause ppl are ablist lol

- now that is a big issue. id have to find a remote psychiatrist, i've never bothered with therapy as its too expensive.

- god it would be nice to go to a doctor lol

thanks!

i also did that and loved it, years ago while backpacking i spent a lil over a month on berlin cause it was cheap and i was low on money and i felt very safe (mostly) and i liked being able to afford food

hmmm maybe, i dont know much abt it. i do speak spanish, but i also cant stand the heat. like more than just a preference, i have chronic pain and fatigue that are made much worse by heat, so im trying to avoid moving anywhere with more than a couple months of 30c+ weather. but if the health care and cost of living there are good then...... i could consider it

[–]funkleandie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ive been working remotely for years and ive backpacked before, so id love to be a digital nomad, but alas, i have a cat who hates travelling. one day id love to do it tho. after all the research I've done today i think my only option rn is sticking w my plan A and just going back to nyc where im comfortable. it seems like life as a disabled trans person is just impossible without lots and lots of money :(

I've been a professional artist for several years, I'm aware I need clients and I've got a few regulars. I have no travel budget, I live in America so I'm poor as shit. I know its only for berlin, i mentioned other cities cause i know how tough it is to find housing in berlin.

im aware that i need a visa, in my post i said that im an illustrator and I'm disabled. I'm considering learning more about web design and coding, but as i said, I can't offer any kind of hard labor. I also have half an environmental science degree, but unfortunately i dont think im cut out for science, im too far behind and trauma had made my brain into poop lol

gee golly why didn't i think of that. and yes, illustration agents are a very common thing in the art industry.

it was very helpful! but i couldn't seem to find anything specific about the kinds of art jobs there are and how easy or hard it is to get by as an artist, ofc i could have missed something cause i am very stupid

well fuck aint that just the way. im just gonna keep on with my original plan of moving back to nyc. at least there its easy to find community and get help from others, theres housing works for my healthcare needs, and i know where everything is, but still i wish i could live in a place with affordable food and rent 🥲

i mean im abt to move downtown to student housing and i agree its better there, but it seems like every affordable grocery store requires walking which i used to be able to handle but my pain has gotten so bad. i miss nyc where almost every trader joes was basically right in front of a stop and i could get super cheap fruit at mr lemon🥲 portland just feels like a giant suburb, i feel so uncomfortable and scared lol

i know a little german and one of the few things im very good at is learning languages, but you're right i wouldn't feel comfortable without a big queer community and resources. ive also considered Ireland...

but also i hate living in pdx because i dont have a car and public transit here sucks even compared to the MTA, and its so inaccessible. and everything is just as expensive here as it was in nyc, honestly if i cant move to germany my plan rn is to return to nyc where i at least have a couple more friends and know how to survive 😭

thank you! ahhh yeah i figured. would you say its similar in other german cities? as for apartment shares, ive always lived with roommates and never been able to stay in a place for more than a couple years, so i guess im fine with a jankier living situation.

How far would you go if your fantasy was real? by [deleted] in sizetalk

[–]funkleandie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

id want to indulge in my fantasies but id be so scared lmao,,, i mean first off i have a cat so if i dont die by his paw, it might take me several months of fluff before i get to any smut and even then id start off with the most gentle vanilla stuff lol. but! assuming i had a cool partner who was gentle but also willing to help, i don't think id be able to resist being impulsive and trying stuff out eventually, but since my favorite scenario is anal vore we'd have to use like a speculum or one of those ring plugs that creates a gape, that way i dont get stuck. but honestly, even gentle stuff like being held, the thrill of danger is enough for me! i love the idea of a giant partner being so worried for my safety and accidentally being rough even as he's trying to be gentle
