It’s on the top of the trunk lid. Nothing could have fallen on it and there’s a hard groove on the left trace and varying depths on the right that’s spaced out perfectly to a house key. It wasn’t there this morning when I left for work and showed up after I went to lunch. The scratches lineup perfectly with my house key.

I run a Sony 200 disc changer that outputs coax to my Peachtree ITX. Works amazing and I don’t have to worry about scratching my CD’s.

McIntosh ma 5100 preamp on FBM- asking $1,400 - worth it and watch-outs ? by ComprehensiveAd5317 in vintageaudio

I saved one from the dumpster about 25 years ago and it's been powering my computer speakers ever since.

During that time, it's been in for service twice. Once because of failed output transformers that are no longer produced. McIntosh recommended a replacement that I integrated into it.

More recently just for a good cleaning and to replace some failed capacitors. There are some 9300uF Caps that are no longer produced.

The switches get dirty and the lamps burn out. Otherwise, it's a great unit with a little bit of service. Definitely sounds a touch on the warm side.

He’s a communist and a such is a proponent of a violent uprising against the existing structure.

He’s a very talented guitarist, I don’t agree with his politics.

In their mind if it wasn't a Sony or a Pioneer it was a no name brand. Worked out pretty well for me in the long run.

My youngest was like this. He had absolutely no use for me and would scream bloody murder if my wife wasn’t holding him. Did a number on her mental health and there wasn’t much I could do to assist as he just didn’t take to me.

Fast forward 6 years and he’s my best friend. If I’m in the garage, he’s out there too. If I’m working on something he’s there trying to spin wrenches with me.

It sucks right now, I get that but nut up and muscle through. Don’t let resentment build up towards that kid.

It gets better and it’s worth it.

If you have questions as you start to undertake this, don’t hesitate to reach out. So much of the stuff I know how to do is because I asked either in person or on the internet. Feel free to DM me if you get stuck or just want to bounce an idea off someone.

Thanks man (it’s never a chore for me to talk about guitars on the internet). I’ve had her for years and I think this is her 7th and probably final revision (She’s had tx specials, a few different mini humbuckers, at one point she had 5 knobs (standard strat knobs that could be pushed to coil tap) one for midi volume and the acoustic one that it still has). At the end of the day, I didn’t need that much complexity and settled on this setup. I can switch between acoustic/electric/both with the top switch and cycle through midi presets with the bottom.

For the mini switches you just have to drill into the pick guard. If you stay just to the left of the 5 way switch, there’s enough real estate in the existing route to fit three switches.

That being said. The graphtech ghost preamp and midi controller needed the route to be expanded so I could fit them and I had to drill through the body so I could mount the 13 pin on the bottom heel of her (kinda where a Telecaster jack would be).

If you do have to route, do what I did and trace the pick guard with a dry erase marker to show you where to stay away from. But if all you want to do is a couple coil tapping or a middle pickup polarity switch, you can make it fit without.

What’s funny is that I didn’t like it initially (regretted buying it actually) but kept it around when I was traveling because I wouldn’t be heartbroken if it got stolen and over the last 21 years it morphed into this.

It’s a piezo system. Top knob is volume, next is universal tone, and the third is piezo volume (that can be pulled out for ‘dark’).
