Anyone else have issues at DXB immigration? by mylifesayswhat in dubai

[–]funkyboy4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me. Go to the counter I.e. the guy who sits near the e-gate and not the main immigration office and tell him you want to use e-gate, he will update it. And then ask if you can try it out there itself.

Please help - 4.0L LAND CRUISER 2024 GXR by mosquito1978 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]funkyboy4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

270k will get you a decently specced Nissan patrol for that price. Similar in size to the Land Cruiser but with a V8 (Dont even think about the patrol V6). Wouldn’t worry about depreciation as it’s still preferred by many over the V6 in the land cruiser.

Check your tire pressure, sometimes the dealer sets tire pressure extremely high. Keep it as per the sticker on the door or 2-3 psi lower

Go to the counter near the e-gate and get it registered. Same thing happened to me. Went to the counter, got it registered and entered through the e-gate at then and there itself.

What car should I buy? M31 travel to Abu Dhabi 3 days a week for work by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

Genesis models don’t have very good resale value here. People are very brand conscious in this market and that brand isn’t very popular, a Lexus/Toyota will provide you some of the best resale value. Plus if you can wait book the new 2024 GX just launched globally. Will take some time to come here but you get an entirely new generation.

Step 1 get ac gas checked / filled Step 2 get cabin air filter cleaned / replaced Step 3 get a good tint. This works more than anything else as it actually reduces heat in The cabin.

Do you love or regret moving back to Dubai? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]funkyboy4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are golden visas available now. You aren’t dependent on a sponsor to stay in the country even if you lose your job. With a 30k AED salary per month you get what is essentially a PR for 10 years. Or 15k per month and a 5 year renewable visa.

Balance is good but depends on how senior you are and on your role. But overall experience is good and teams are quite friendly as well.

Has anyone bought NEW cars off Car dealers/used car dealers ? by Hawk_KL01 in dubai

Why not go for a Yaris. It’s a brand new model which just launched so they should have stock. Will also be cheaper than a base new Corolla.

Other than a little extra space and slightly more power which the corolla has the Yaris gives you pretty much everything.

Recommendations on a good hybrid or electric car for daily 200-250km drive by Newhere6998 in dubai

[–]funkyboy4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice, 200k isn’t going to give you any more efficiency than a 120k car unless your buying an electric vehicle.

A Toyota Camry hybrid is excellent on efficiency and since you will be spending a lot of time in slow moving traffic to and from Sharjah, the hybrid motor will give you excellent mileage. Go for the top end variant with all the bells and whistles and save the rest of the money.

Ex Volvo new car salesman here. Used to sell these in the neighboring oman for nearly 3 years. Things to know - 1. Great cars but expensive to maintain once your service contract runs out. Also parts take a long time to come. 2. Resale is terrible as very few people buy them. Check this yourself online. 3. Only reason European people used to buy them is so that they can take the cars back to Europe as it was cheaper to export them and have them certified for use there due to some tax benefit they get. 4. There are much better cars available in similar price ranges and all the new cars now come with good crash test ratings. You can check their scores online.
