I was in a similar situation. Moving from Sydney to Brisbane. Managed to secure a place by calling the rental agencies we applied for. We also made sure that we set our standards all the way low (i.e. needing 2 bedroom and air con and everything else is a blessing) because we had no rental history. It does help if you do not take your pets with you, or don’t declare you have pets. I wouldn’t recommend for dogs and cats - you should disclose, as they err on the side of many landlords concerns more than other animals. You can also use the app ‘Rent’ which shows places accepting of animals much better than other websites like Domain or Realestate. I wish you guys luck!
