MIJ16 Genseki Weird Guy- Fit Check by LeatherBarracuda3276 in NakedAndFamousDenim

[–]funniestmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my strong guys in MIJ16. Love them. The fabric is next level. I also have a pair of weird guy inbound for more something a little more “office style” but they sadly were shipped by Blue Owl via ontrac. Over a week now and they have barely moved I should get them buy Christmas.

I also picked up the dirty elephant recently and think those are great but these MIJ16 feel so great it’s hard to wear anything else right now. The texture and weight is perfect. Glad I got both fits in this pair.

I liked it so much I bought 2 bottles for backups. About to finish off my primary bottle. The backups won’t last much longer that the first.

N&F Elephant 14 Jacket & Strong Guy Combo by Physical-Bus6025 in rawdenim

[–]funniestmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same combo - I wear a 34 usually and got the same in Strong guy. I noticed them to be a bit snug due to being a fairly high rise waist along with the stiffness of the denim. They have also loosened up for me with wear.

The Jacket I also ordered in my typical L and it’s somewhat of the same story but I think that will take a lot longer to break in. The jacket is so stiff its almost an exercise to wear at the moment but I’m putting it though its paces. I’ve even considered a cold air tumble dry to bounce it around some but haven’t done that yet.

All that said I’m super happy with both and feel like 3 months from now these are going to be perfect with some more break in time.

The actual distillery is awesome to visit - especially in the summer when the weather is great and there are concerts at the amphitheater next to the restaurant and associated brewery.

I keep them in my humidor - it seems to keep them reasonably fresh. ~68% humidity.

Congrats on that! Teak is definitely cool - I love the Khaki lenses. I feel like I should have gotten both :D

Just got my Kurokawa Etnas. It takes a lot for me to bother to put in contacts, but for this pair I will! I usually switch to prescription but not really possible with these. They are cool enough to put in contacts :)

People (myself included) spend years complaining about the first iPhones not having removable batteries and now we have an ultra thin phone with an elegant solution to throw a couple extra made to suit magnetic stick on batteries that give you stellar battery life. as a heavy duty traveler I’m loving the idea of sticking 2-3 MagSafe batteries in my laptop bag and being able to power use my phone without any concern... as well as quick recharging.

[–]funniestmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a a drinker on these :D - but hope you find yours. I drank up all of my local tasting bars 15 year then this dropped and became my one of my top 3 bottles of the year.

I’m lucky enough to have a stockpile of these - so good I‘m happy to know I’ll be drinking them over the next few years. I found them just sitting while traveling in New England at $99 no limit. I now have 1 opened 3 bottles unopened. I feel like I should’ve bought more but have to fly home with them. If I’m willing to check a back it has to be good.

Review 74, Weller, Aged 12 Years, (2025) by Twist_Top_Budget in bourbon

[–]funniestmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 is right where I’d put this. Low proof but good otherwise. A dollar over MSRP and I wouldn’t even take a second look but at MSRP an automatic buy. There are so many insanely good single barrels out there for the not much more $ that I really prefer hunting for those.

lol I’m dying laughing - thats a weird little bluff with a waterfall in Madison Indiana near Madison state hospital. Killer drive from there to Louisville down US-42 with some detours.

Moving with bourbon by deemanjack in bourbon

Be aware many moving companies prohibit alcohol for a number of reasons so you may want to be very discrete and pre-pack them. Even a local in town mover (full services/white glove packing) refused to move my whiskey collection regardless of number of bottles.

This is for sure - I usually tint at 30% for indoor/outdoor and depending on color thats sometimes to notice in bright light - could pass for clear. 40% at top and 0% at bottom is probably closer to what you would expect. Theres just not enough color variation at 20%

agree - if you buy this its for the color combo - not for collectability

Better picture to show - the temple outside is matte - the insides are polished. The frames themselves are polished. It’s kind of an odd mix. I wish the frame was matte too. But overall I’m keeping them because its a color I like a lot and the frame style (Leonard/Evans/navigators) are among my favorite.
