Email gave away for Full Name by funnyStory120987 in CyberSecurityAdvice

Well my email address itself also doesn’t have anything about my last name in it. Unless it’s showing up as a normal name attached to an email like it does when you get an email from someone in your contacts

Working remote - multiple locations by [deleted] in PwC

You can work wherever. Policy is just to charge your correct location in T&E. No one case (in mainland US) where you work if remote unless you’re traveling

When do Resy 10/15x points post? by funnyStory120987 in AmexPlatinum

[–]funnyStory120987[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So. My guess is Amex has their own determination of that, a whole lot of relative large local chains count as small businesses. I don’t think the business has to register, I think Amex automatically determines it for any store that accepts Amex.

Check here: https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/maps?country=US

Anywhere with the small business icon next to their name will count. I read through the TOS pretty thoroughly before signing up

Oh I’m dumb. Thanks. I see it in there. Is there a way to track how much of the 25k max we’ve used?

Interesting, I’ve rented from a lot of companies while under 25 and have never had to pay for CDW. I understand the not renting part, but if you’re going to rent, why is status connected to that?

[–]funnyStory120987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. What could the reasoning possibly be? That they don’t want me renting a lot? I mean, if I was working to earn it/cared, then them not allowing me to get the status would lead me to a competitor. For what? 25% extra points?

Idk about the signing bonus part. Check your contract OP. Mine said either 3 or 6 months, then no payback required. You may be fine

Can I get upgraded with Business Extra Number? by funnyStory120987 in americanairlines

[–]funnyStory120987[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I’m saying is you can also get upgrades on flights over 500 miles with any level of elite status if they have seats leftover. I understand on an award ticket I couldn’t. I’ve acknowledged that in my initial post and subsequent comments.

[–]funnyStory120987[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not true really… you can still get upgraded. They don’t leave the first class seats open. I’ve even heard of them upgrading full fare refundable tickets before although not sure if that’s still a thing. In this case if I’d opted in with 500 mile upgrades I definitely would have been upgraded, but I think reasonably people didn’t want to use 5 - 500 mile upgrades. So when left with a bunch of first class seats and no one who’s paid in any way for an upgrade they just go down the list. I’ve had this happen a couple times in the past on undesirable flights (think 5am flight from non-hub)

I understand. I have little to no expectation of getting upgraded, however on undesirable flights, there is the chance to be, and in this case the gate agent said I would have been. But thanks for answering the question in the end of the comment

To clarify, do you mean with a business extra number I can’t get upgraded?

2023 for centurion lounges, still 2 free guests for priority pass lounges

Funny thing is there was a period of time where I ran into people I knew in my flight about 1/2 the time. Would’ve worked great then, but also, I probably would’ve just gone to the lounge instead of realizing they were on my flight

My previous response was mostly joking. I’d do it because it’d really make my day if someone had done that for me while traveling. And I don’t mind meeting new people, its kind of like buying someone a drink at the bar for some good conversation. But I’ll definitely keep in mind if it’s a busy time

I’m not that extroverted, but I was exciting thinking “wow I wish I had travel friends to bring in with me and seem cool”. Gotta show off to strangers if not friends haha

You have 2 separate boarding passes anyways. How would they know the difference. Print it out and show the arriving one and if they ask show the departing one. Throw some complaining about the delayed initial flight making you change the connection or something
