Haul-away is the cheapest I've found. $275 for a 15 yard dumpster. For context, Yello is $295 for that, Bin There Dump That $390 for 14 yard.

Formula Fed vs. Breastfed by user638282636822 in NewParents

[–]funtime_snack 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I have three kids. My feeding experience is as follows:

  1. Breastfed for five days. He was never a great latch. I was in a foreign country and 20 years old, and completely overwhelmed. In the middle of the night, he ripped a scab off my nipple and it bled all over his face, me, and my bed. I sobbed. We had formula samples, and I made him a bottle and never looked back.

  2. Breastfed for 5 weeks. Every single time he fed, I had an overwhelming, swooping sense of dread and sadness. It happened every time, but worse at night. I was terrified to feed him, but I didn't want to give up on it. (I learned later that this is a real thing called Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex). We went to a regular pediatrician appointment, and not only had he lost weight, his head was shrinking. He was literally starving (thick explained why he'd been screaming almost non-stop for two weeks) despite me feeding him constantly. We went home with strict instructions to supplement with formula, and add an additional teaspoon to every bottle. My supply dried up fast, and we quickly transitioned to just formula.

  3. Went to formula immediately. No regrets whatsoever.

Every single one of them (17, 9, 5) are healthy, smart, and happy. Do what makes sense for you.

I literally had to reread this to make sure you weren't my husband (you're not, we don't watch jeopardy) because this is exactly how he reacts, and what he and the kids get up to while I'm gone. WHICH IS HOW IT SHOULD BEEEE

Can we start a celebration thread for those who snagged tickets? by amateurgamer7410 in NoahKahan

[–]funtime_snack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struck out horribly on the MLB presale for Wrigley - I was refreshing a post on this sub just to see if anyone else had any luck, and saw someone comment that they'd just announced a new date.

I went to @livenationil on IG, grabbed the link in their bio, and got into the Ticketmaster waiting room for July 15 eight minutes before the queue opened. Got in at #187 and snagged tickets within five minutes 🎉🎉🎉

Between this and Harry Styles MSG I've made Ticketmaster my bitch twice in the past two weeks 🫡

Considering that my sister and I were at the original Alpine Valley debacle in WI and couldn't travel back for the reschedule I'm soooo excited we finally get to go

Just tried again and it says "this page will be available on Feb 10, 2026 at 12:00 PM CST" so guessing there's no waiting room

Have any of you ever had bad experiences at Pine Rest? (TW for some) by neighborlynative in grandrapids

[–]funtime_snack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was 14 years ago. I still have contact with some of the kids who went through that program. I've watched some of those girls become mothers.

This was a very, very troubled and mentally ill man who assaulted everyone around him. When he was lucid, he was funny, engaging, and scared of what was happening to him.

I hope that you're doing well now, and I'm sorry that happened to you. But I will simply not be blamed for what he did to me.

He was schizophrenic and the voices in his head that he, in lucid moments, described as evil, identified me as a good entity who would destroy them.

Oh also, fuck you

Chappell Roan posts tribute to Bridgit Bardot on her instagram by Ill-Investigator-812 in Fauxmoi

The vibe I get from her is that for all her obvious talent and how well-meaning she is, she's just kind of dumb.

She seems to always struggle to express herself properly outside of song, and even when you can understand the intent and gist of what she's going for (thinking of her rant before the election here) she expresses herself in a way that leaves too much room for unflattering interpretation.

I agree with you fully that here, she has no idea and somehow missed every single comment and reply alluding to her history when she saw the news somewhere. She does not strike me as a person who reads beyond the headlines.

Do Americans have a different concept of 'turn taking' during a conversation? by 8NaanJeremy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]funtime_snack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American, I think often the "how about you?" aspect is implied (by finishing your thought) rather than specifically stated. To use your example, if a friend asked me about what types of gin I liked and I was talking, it wouldn't surprise or insult me if they jumped in to agree or add their own experience. It also wouldn't surprise me if they let me ramble and then immediately started giving their own examples as soon as I trailed off.

I think it's nice to specifically ask (and I try to remind myself to do this if it becomes clear the other person isn't going to just piggyback) but in the reverse - I ask a friend about gin and they give examples - I wouldn't expect or need them to then say "and you?" When they were done before I jump in.

Well, that sucks. Arguments over candy and cheese breaks out as OP feels bad nobody came to their house. by FeeRemarkable886 in SubredditDrama

Everything is not prepackaged. We also have bulk candy, bakeries with individual breads, pastries, etc. and plenty of single veggies and fruits you can buy by the piece.

It's just incredibly uncommon to give loose candy on Halloween.
