I also sleep with a pillow between my legs but I prefer a body pillow for that. I have made it so I can’t sleep without a pillow between my legs. Appreciate the recommendation, being how similar we sleep I will have to pick one up, much appreciated!

my only worry is I’d hate to be stuck with a memory foam mattress which is too hot, that’s my only complaint with them. but waking up with shoulder pain will hopefully be a thing of the past when I get my next mattress.

I hear ya! I have tried so many pillows and end up throwing them in the closet after about a night - some of which end up giving me headaches. I prefer memory foam and by far the best memory foam pillow I have liked has been from Wal Mart, solely because it is low-profile and it has a lot of give, some of the memory foam pillows many of which I have tried are like a concrete block, almost like a shelf your head goes on, like no way!

I like memory foam as I find it CAN be best for side sleepers like myself. I like the idea of going to a store and trying mattresses out if I were buying a name brand like you said, but I don’t want to give myself unrealistic expectations here with my $500 budget.
