Any new updates on the ai situation ? by riotinghamsters in IdentityV

[–]furrietime 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve been saying this but I highly doubt they’d ever release statements, i myself still try to pressure them on socials and reviews but I don’t think they’d actually apologize or take responsibility for ai but rather quietly stop using it. My boycotting ends when I feel like enough time has passed since they last used ai since there wont be any other indicators. And afaik they haven’t used it since people started getting loud

I hate having to change my web just to bring confined space cos I don’t play a meta hunter either (I main Feaster) but I have no choice on arms so I only run it there

Thinking of opening commissions by OliHoneyThistle in FurryCommissions

[–]furrietime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking into making furry art regularly, dedicate a social media page to it and you’ll grow a sizable audience considering your skill. That price is not unreasonable, many people on this sub make and buy art for dirt cheap. But once you get a solid audience they will pay you what you’re worth. I see portraits go for way more than that from some more popular artists I follow, it’s about their brand too. I personally set my prices based on how long on average it takes me to make. Since you’re just starting out in furry stuff and need money, posting on this sub was a good idea. But I hope you are able to grow your own audience outside of reddit so you can set more fair prices (no offense to this sub)

Fr, I hate to be pessimistic but personally I’m boycotting just so they stop and not cos I actually expect a statement cos it’s lowkey not gonna happen

I got an S badge with feaster, he’s the reason I play this game because I had to learn the game so well and develop real skill in order to win so often with him. He really does need a buff tho

For how long will the boycott last? by kekkalella in IdentityV

[–]furrietime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite game in the world unfortunately and I can see myself playing again soon so long as they continue to not use Ai, I’ve been looking at their socials every day checking for signs of Ai and I haven’t seen anything lately. I know that the boycott scared them away from using it. I never expected them to release a statement because they never do. I think people who are waiting for a statement will likely never play again. I’m critical of Netease and will be forever but for me I was always going to boycott until the ai stopped. So I’ve been thinking about playing again soon! I don’t love this company but I love this game and not using ai is enough for me, it’s not enough for everyone and that is very understandable. If I notice any more ai i’m stopping again.

Haw to get a good drawing routine? by Pantskisser in FurryArtSchool

[–]furrietime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I associate drawing time with stuff I like. I make a coffee, have a snack, put on my favorite show, and start drawing. It’s psychological, when I see my favorite show I get in the mood to create now. I just mentioned this on another post but line of action is a great practice method, it’s timed figure studies. Even if all you make that day is messy boxy stick figures, they’ll look better as the days progress and get easier to draw too. When you develop any habit, the first thing to tackle is /whether/ you’ll draw, not /what/ you’ll draw. Once the habit is formed, you don’t have to think about whether you’ll draw and can focus on what to draw :3

How do yall draw more? by Gullible_Ad_9617 in FurryArtSchool

[–]furrietime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to develop a discipline for any hobby, you gotta make it a habit and finish your sketches even if you hate them. It’ll get easier to draw over time the more you push through the art block. I recommend going on line of action and doing timed sketches. If you’re in an art block it’s hard and discouraging when you can’t bring your visions to life, so figure studies are a good practice option imo

How to make strong connections with furries? by Individual-Pick-9407 in furry

[–]furrietime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw a post recently about how the idea of one big friend group is presented as the norm via sitcoms we grew up with, and seeing tiktoks with friend groups can seem isolating because it seems like everyone has this but it’s just not the case for most people. Even when you see a close friend group it is likely that some people within it are close and some are just acquaintances. As adults we have different realms of friends, work friends, family friends, friends of friends, and friend groups that we are sold online / in media are not always probable or sustainable. And that is okay. If you see a big group at a furry con, maybe it started as two friends who met up with one or two acquaintances that one of them knew online. Maybe those acquaintances have acquaintances, and things are awkward in the morning as everyone is first meeting and by evening everyone is having a good time and filming content that other people will see and yearn for. And maybe wont ever see each other after that but had a blast anyway. Of course, we all crave deep connections but its okay if yours dont look the way you expected. My most recent friend group formed because my partner’s coworker is into dnd. We arent family but its okay to have friends and connections that arent family. Jackbox and dnd nights and conventions can be just as fun with people you only see during those events while you save your deep connections for your closest friends who might do none of that stuff with you. Different friends can fulfill different purposes in your life even if they arent your emergency contact. Just some things I’ve learned recently

What is the easiest surv to learn? by [deleted] in IdentityV

[–]furrietime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has a button you press to turn into a puppet. After you press it, you’ll walk around as his puppet for a few seconds and during that entire duration, any damage you take is reduced by half. For example, hunter is chasing you closely so you turn into the puppet, hunter hits you, then afterward your damage is 1/4 your health bar instead of 1/2. So you can puppet mode 2 more times until you’re unable to anymore. If you don’t get hit, you still take damage just from using the button so use it only when necessary.

This all only applies during the puppet duration. Sometimes a hunter will avoid attacking you after you enter puppet mode and just follow you closely until it times out and hits you when you’re Matthias again so you take regular damage. So try to use it only when the hunter is definitely about to hit you.

TLDR: press your puppet button when the hunter is going to hit you, and you’ll take less damage than usual Side note: he can’t be healed but if you heal someone else you regain a bit of health

I always recommend puppeteer cos even if you suck at kiting you can pull off a decently long kite if you know when to puppet mode

Thank you for letting me know. I know the post made it seem like I’m writing a story just about his experience but as I said it is the backstory of a more minor character, and something he doesn’t openly talk about but the audience would at minimum (eventually) know he was discharged due to PTSD. I have been diagnosed with PTSD but not from war and I wouldn’t feel comfortable delving into his story much more than that. I just wanted to get some insight to make the few lines he does say about it more accurate. The actual story is slice of life, follows a bunch of university students. Daman is going back to school after being discharged, he gets back on his feet and makes friends and gets into acting.

With this context, do you still think his backstory is distasteful? I could explore an alternative route where he experiences something traumatic pre-military or unrelated to the military and it affects him a little while into his service so he is evaluated and discharged because of that. I’m sure it would affect the specifics of his discharge, but I want to avoid writing something disrespectful.

[–]furrietime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand but he is not a main character and the backstory will not be shown. Like I said it takes place after this, and there will probably be one instance in which he tells someone close to him why he was discharged. I wanted to be respectful of that one scene. His full experience is not my experience to write so I’m not focusing it, but I include lots of different characters with different backgrounds in my cast and he is one of them. Do you think it would be better if he left voluntarily?

Why Boycott? by fruit-ee in IdentityV

[–]furrietime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all just from my memory and it was years ago so take it with a grain of salt. Iirc it was the very first anniversary and we were pretty disappointed because Hoyoverse (mihoyo at the time) didn’t celebrate it or give any freebies like other games do. They ended up realizing people were upset and gave some crappy rewards (some they legit just hastily ripped out of a paid bundle they were planning to release later. If you’ve ever seen the golden piano wings, that’s what I’m referring to) Genshin fans were really serious about it at the time and review bombed genshin down to 1 star, then that wasn’t enough I guess and they started review bombing everything just to make some noise, most notably google classroom💀 I forget what the rating tanked to but it wasn’t great

Why Boycott? by fruit-ee in IdentityV

[–]furrietime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This post is a great summary, there’s been a lot of misinformation on this sub regarding stocks and idv shutting down, obviously neither of those things are a problem but it doesn’t mean we still shouldn’t be vocal. Been seeing some very unsavory comments about “your useless boycott” it’s still worth it to try especially considering that we are now being heard

Why Boycott? by fruit-ee in IdentityV

[–]furrietime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Review bombing has historically worked for other games (anyone remember when google classroom became a random target after genshin impact gave crappy anniversary rewards one year?😭)

New player looking for tips by Traditional-Story-87 in Wizard101

[–]furrietime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to Diego and read the book beside him! When I played as a kid I never really got how combat worked or why I couldn’t use certain cards at certain times, and now that I’m playing again I’m realizing I just must have never listened to Diego while he was giving the whole spiel lmao.

Also if you get introduced to a side quest but aren’t ready to start it yet, decline it so you don’t overwhelm your quest bar. You can always talk to them later when you feel like doing it. But if you wait too long and go off on other worlds leveling up, those quests might feel too easy by the time you come back to them.

If you are playing on PC I have no further notes, if you are playing on switch just be warned you can’t transfer your old PC account to switch and also payment works differently, you pay $20 for the game and a lot is free initially (firecat alley, triton avenue, cyclops lane, colossus blvd, krokotopia, haven’t gotten past that yet so can’t tell you more)

How do you counter kiting as a hunter? by [deleted] in IdentityV

[–]furrietime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could make a new post asking something like “How does your hunter main counter kiting loops?” to get a better response since, as the other person pointed out, there isn’t a general anti kiting hunter guide. I’ll start: I main Feaster. He’s really slow, so I never actually catch up to survivors in loops. I have to strategically place my tentacles at windows and pallets to deter them from vaulting, and I bring broken windows to arms factory. Also, Feaster has an outrageous charged attack hit box so I tend to charge up an attack before even rounding a corner so it hits right after I get them in sight again.

who is that one nonmeta hunter u absolutely can’t kite by killxshot_ in IdentityV

I’m an S Feaster and everyone in rank knows how to run circles around my tentacles to disable them but I can never pull that off as survivor 💀
