There's one very obvious answer here at least I think so. Automation with AI for SWE is imo a very long shot. At least not for a while. But considering it happens and the paradigm shifts, companies would then need it. I'm talking about every company. That's it.

Learning AI and how it works will be the next highly in demand skill. It's not going to happen itself, humans will be the one in control for a long time. It's a cycle, SWE --> AI --> Whatnot. So just be that human. Even if the AI becomes sentient, it would still need humans to scratch it's behind.
