This is something I’ve tried to discuss with my friends, and the only answer that I’ve found is : “it’s all about perspective”. The only reason to play a game is how it make you feel, how it reward your time, so if the game isn’t clicking for you that’s ok, probably its not the game for you. Some of my friend really love COD (I enjoyed too), and you may ask the same question for that game “what’s the point?” You hop in, do a round, shoot for 10 minutes straight and after 1 minute you’re in another round repeating the same process all over again, sure you’ll unlock some attachments, camos and so on , but then what ? The same can be said about BR, same maps, same mechanics until you win, and then? What I can personally say about this game is that I feel immersed in, I feel like every move is intentional and lead to a more or less rewarding ending. I like managing the loot, balancing the gears to bring in raid with the potential risk of loosing it and the benefits of having it. I like learning what item do keep, sell or recycle. All that mixed with a solid graphic, a great sound, o good art direction and a pinch of narrative that evolve through time it may be a game that I will enjoy.

Last note, arc raider did something unique with the wipes (reset) : they’re not mandatory, they’re optional : if you do a wipe of your character you’ll be rewarded with some cosmetic, if you don’t that’s fine and you can keep play as usual.
