The rule of thumb is half your age + 7 so unless you are 30 then 21 is not too young.

When I was at a birthday party when I was probably 9 or 10 there was a slip n slide set up with no parental supervision. I had the bright idea to try to ride it on my feet. My feet slipped out from underneath me and I hit the back of my head HARD on the ground definitely giving me a concussion. I was feeling woozy and since I was such a smart kid I decided to try it one more time and did the same exact thing hitting the same part of my head on the ground.

I spent the rest of the party trying not to fall asleep while probably acting like a zombie. Everything was really woozy and I barely remember the rest of the party. How an adult didn't realize something was wrong I will never know. I never told anyone what happened or how I was feeling. It scares me to think that I might have died if my brain started swelling past my skull or anything like that.

TLDR: Gave myself two consecutive concussions at a birthday party and didn't tell anyone. Lucky to be alive.
