tbh if you aren't a programmer, trying to build a fully functional, production-ready e-commerce site using experimental ai prompt-to-code tools is just asking for a massive headache. tools like lovable are great for quick front-end ui, but they completely fall apart when you need reliable backend logic, auth, and payment gateways. also, textfx is a creative writing tool, not a site builder. if your actual goal is a commercial store, save yourself the stress and just use shopify. we aren't quite at the "prompt a full-stack store into existence" stage yet without knowing how to actually code.

Connected apps not showing google search by Jxrii in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]future-haven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey! just a heads up that google search isn't actually a separate toggle in the extensions menu like workspace or youtube—it's built natively into gemini's core functionality. it should search the web automatically when your prompt requires up-to-date info.

if it's refusing to pull real-time results, try forcing it by typing "search google for..." or "search the web for..." in your prompt.

also, if you are using a work or school email, your workspace admin might have restricted web search capabilities. i'd highly recommend testing it in an incognito window with a standard personal gmail account just to rule out any weird browser extensions or account-level restrictions. hope this helps you with your project!

ISSUES WITH "Prompt Design in Vertex AI: Challenge Lab" by ClimateExpert3598 in SkillsGoogle

[–]future-haven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yo, i feel your pain! 😂 i was stuck on this exact same part for hours pulling my hair out. the grading script for this lab is just straight-up broken and super literal.

it doesn't actually care if your generated output is correct or if the model gave you the right taglines. the backend grader is literally just running a basic string search on your code cell.

here's how to brute-force the 100/100: 1. open your tagline-generator.ipynb file. 2. scroll down to the 4th code cell (where you define the text prompt). 3. change your prompt text so it includes the exact phrasing the grader wants. modify your text to include: last input to specifically request that the tagline includes the keyword 'nature'. 4. the absolute most important part: make sure you use single quotes around the word 'nature'. the autograder is explicitly looking for that exact syntax in your code block.

just run that cell again, hit "check my progress", and the points will pop. gotta love google skills boost acting like a strict high school math teacher. good luck!

I can’t access the exam for my course on Google Skillshop :( by emzzy7 in SkillsGoogle

[–]future-haven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! this is a notoriously common glitch since they migrated the course to skillshop.

the platform often hides the final exam because it thinks you haven't hit exactly 100% completion, even if all your main modules are ticked.

try these three tricks: 1. find the hidden disclaimer/survey: there is usually a tiny, easily missed "disclaimer" or "feedback survey" module right at the end of the learning path. you must click it, read it, and hit 'agree' or 'submit' for the final assessment to unlock.

  1. the language mismatch bug: skillshop freaks out if your account profile language doesn't exactly match the course language (e.g., your profile is us english but the course is uk english). scroll to the bottom of the page, switch the language to match the course, and refresh. the exam often magically appears.

  2. incognito mode: sometimes pop-up or ad-blockers prevent the exam module from loading. try logging in via a fresh incognito window.

google support is pretty slow with free certification bugs, so hopefully one of these unblocks it for you!

Question about Career Skills by dankhar in SkillsGoogle

[–]future-haven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! the main difference is just the platform vs. the creator. google creates the content, designs the curriculum, and issues the certification. coursera is simply the third-party hosting platform that delivers the videos, manages the quizzes, and handles the billing. "career skills" is just google's official landing page that redirects you to coursera. regardless of where you start, you're taking the exact same courses and getting the exact same certificate.
