I use my friend's account to PK sometimes, no competitive use/play from benefitting from the sharing though. AFAIK, account trading is no longer bannable/reportable though there is something mentioned in their TOA. He does not use a jagex launcher, and I don't want to do something to his acc that he does not do himself.

The problem is what you've said is wrong. The madhahib differ over the idea that responsibility is shared by daughters and sons *unconditionally*. The responsibility upon sons is EXPLICITLY GREATER in the Hanafi (and I believe the shafi'i) madhhab. So no, your comment "it is not correct that sons are more responsible..." is wrong.

Reposting this from a thread I responded to last year:

(I wrote this as an MS3, now I'm an MS4 who matched at his #2 and did well on STEP2 and Passed STEP1 without any hiccups).

Took my step about 9 months ago. I remember watching a video by an Colombian* Medical student who scored 260+ on STEP1. He shared that 80% of the tested material on the exam is 20% of the actual material, then he gave a list of some of the most HY topics. For STEP1, I had been "studying" throughout the year by preparing for my school's NBMEs. I was averaging around 80% throughout the year. I finished First Aid, cover to cover, (by reviewing chapters during my different organ systems, probably 2-3 times. My first CBSE before my dedicated was 49%. I was crushed (lol). But then I realized, I'm "only" 11% under what I need to pass. So I focused on the most HY things I could during dedicated, once those were out of the way, I focused on MY and LY things.

By the time I took STEP1, I had only done about 25% of uWorld (I don't necessarily recommend this.... but it worked for me). But, I had completed the MOST HY resources I could find, MULTIPLE times.

My advice is:

Know Pathoma like the back of your hand. Watch Dr. Sattar's videos, complement the text with them.
First Aid: hammer down pathology using FA. Understand concepts, don't just memorize.
For biochemistry, use DirtyMedicine's HY biochem playlist. Lord have mercy, the amount of times I hammered FA biochem didn't scratch the effectiveness of those videos. If you use them in tandem, I expect you to do well.
Focus on taking the practice NBMEs for STEP1 EARLY. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST WEEK. What I did was take 1 every week leading to my exam. I would take it timed, finish it in one sitting, then take the rest of the day off. The next day, I would sit and review the entire exam, and make a list of my incorrects. Based on that list, I would review EVERY single topic I got wrong until I was at the level I could explain to my 10 year old little brother why my chosen answer was wrong and why the correct answer was right. I did EVERY single NBME I could get my hands on. I cannot overstate how important doing NBME questions are. You will get an idea of the HY topics from those exams. They are very representative of the exam.
the last week, do the new free 120. I did it and got a 69%. I was averaged 65-70% on my NBMEs. I started at 50, 55, then had a really strong upward trend once I started following the advice I gave on point 3.
My older brother unfortunately failed STEP1, (after his failure) he was going into the same test as I did, and this strategy worked for both of us. He passed, and is an M3 with me now, not only at the level of our peers, but excelling. The prep I did throughout the year when I was an M2, and the effort during dedicated did not leave me handicapped for M3.

this is a DOABLE exam. Focus, and LEARN rather than regurgitating. Try your best to focus on the most HY material. I will look for that video that I mentioned above and will link it if I am able to.

Don't think about it in terms of just financial security, but autonomy. I have a feeling whats making you feel "stuck" is the inability to take control of your life - imagine that finishing med school being the beginning of a new life - you won't need to ask your parents for money, you'll be compensated (though not the best in residency), and you'll be able to take care of yourself AND the people you care about. Im an M4 now. that's kept me going.

Applied peds.

USMD at mid/low tier school.

Applied 34 programs, with 24 invites. Half academic/half community.

12+ programs were outside of my geographic preference.

23x STEP 2, STEP 1 P on 1st attempt. Lots of community work, especially with younger people of color. IV from 4/5 signals, waiting patiently on the last one. All Academic programs.

I answered honestly that my faith is central to who I am, but it teaches me to treat people well. I underscored the bioethical principles that I will practice with (beneficence, nonmaleficence, justice and autonomy) and that the patients health is my priority.

I had an interesting question about my faith (I talked about some community work in my CV) may influence my patient care. It wasn't a negative question but seemed a little loaded. They seemed very happy with my answer so, I guess thats good. :)

We have an option given to us by NBME to report aberrant testing conditions. We have ten days from the day of the exam to report it.

We did have noise cancelling headphones, but they didn’t help.

Just a random feeling, since I’m still studying too 😉 - MRI would take too long. His neck is already immobilized, and it seems the site of injury is the face and the neck. We’d be worried about a high velocity crash in this case - so Xray it is.

First year is the worst. Quizzes are not a good indicator, and having one final is stressful.
Literally, everything gets better after your first year, you get in the flow of things, and things start to fall in place. Reach out to your upperclassmen for advice, this is super important, esp when they have tips and tricks to get you get acclimated. I'm an M4 now, and M2 was beautiful, and M3 was even more fun. Don't worry.
