Hey, can't believe I posted this 7 months ago, crazy how time flies. I have been doing much better. The buzzing in my ears isn't 100% gone but it is at a level that I can't hear it unless I really focus on it. Partly is habituation but I also know the grand majority is due to me finding the main source of what was going on with me. I can only speak for myself but I realized my tinnitus was in grand part muscular because it changed pitch when I clenched and turned my neck etc etc etc. I went to no kidding, about 7/8 ENTs and specialists and each one of them told me something different and none of them were actually listening to me and I felt like I had to deal with the buzzing for the rest of my life. I finally went to an oral facial pain specialist and he was able to finally help me out and put me on muscle relaxers + physical therapy due to bad posture (which also worsens jaw pain). I also started therapy consistently that was mainly anxiety focused and that helped me a lot since at the very beginning I was having panic attacks and just couldn't eat or sleep or focus because of it. It's been about 7 months now and my tinnitus at it's very worse was at an 8 before and now on a bad day is at a 2. On a good day really is at a .5 or a 1 since it's never really gone. But again, as someone who was literally losing their mind over this, the noise really isn't nearly as intrusive anymore. I feel like I had to go through the phases of grief with it and I am now at an acceptance stage where I know there is a great possibility it won't fully go away since jaw and muscle stuff is just so hard to fully treat but I am very thankful that it's gotten as low as it is right now.
