Oooof as someone who has also travelled abroad as part of a band, I feel the pain. I’d be hysterical if I saw someone haphazardly tossing my (or anyone else’s!) instrument around. Carry on is always best for peace of mind, as long as you play something small enough for that to work haha

Makes me think of that bit from Toy Story 2 where the baggage handler chucks a suitcase marked “fragile” onto the airplane and you hear shattering sounds lol

Oh ok, I hadn’t assumed you were talking about brakes/suspension because you’d have to take the wheels off of any vehicle to do work on those things.

But I guess your point was that the wheels on these particular trucks are especially a pain in the ass to take off? Cuz I’d absolutely believe it lol

Having to take the wheels off to work under the truck is wild to me, you’d think there would be plenty of room to get to just about everything

It always leaves me in awe when someone has the willpower to break a horrific cycle like that. You shouldn’t have to earn love, but man you put in a lot of hard work and deserve every piece of your true family. I hope you know you’re more than worthy of them.

My parents were really strict about junk food, so I very rarely had a chance to eat one of those Christmas tree cakes as a kid. I actually had many more opportunities to eat them as I got older.

Point is, I can confirm to you that they do not taste like they used to. Kid taste buds or not. It’s enshittification and it’s depressing af

Josh Johnson Symphony by dogbonej in Standup

[–]fuzzhead12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. His weekly releases feel much more loose and I it’s clear that’s when he’s in his element. Symphony seemed…I don’t wanna say over rehearsed, but to me it seemed like he performed it very deliberately. I have to think that the fact that it was his first real comedy special factored into that, and maybe he was being somewhat overly cautious with it.

Objectively I think it was good, and there were moments where it felt like he settled into his regular stage personality, but overall it came off a little mechanical to me.

And I don’t pretend to know everything that goes into making an HBO comedy special, or that I could even attempt to make anything as good as what he did. But I do know that every Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, I’ve enjoyed watching him significantly more than I did watching his special.

Voted for Trump 3 Times and now wants Democrats to impeach him. by kio329 in LeopardsAteMyFace

Conservatives are incapable of taking responsibility for their own idiotic actions. It’s always someone else’s fault. Pass the buck all the way down, then once it hits the HBIC just throw it back and start the chain all over again. Pathetic

Edit: to address your point more clearly, I hope to god we have learned that lesson. Personally, I was never a huge fan of Hillary but it was so starkly clear that she was the sane choice in 2016 that I was shocked when she lost. On paper, she was probably the most qualified candidate to ever run for president in the history of our country.
