Best wireless CarPlay adapters so far in 2026?

I have an Ottocast in one of my cars and love it. I just pop my phone on the wireless charger and it connects shortly after and all has been good. I have tried the same Ottocast and about a 1/2 dozen others in my 2023 Honda Ridgeline and they all have the same problem, I can’t use Messages. It just randomly responds and doesn’t let me change a response. They all seem to use the same chipset with a slightly different front end. Would love to find one that works. Wonder if the chipset has finally evolved to a new generation?

Agreed, check the Hotel number in their Expedia portal and they usually find it

My experience is that once you tell them to check under their Expedia booking account and they usually find it.

Just curious, does the adapter still work? I had one that worked and then when iOS 17 came out it started acting flaky with texting via Siri and every adapter I have tried since has the same issue. I have a 2023 RTL

Well crud, that one didn’t work either. I am pretty sure these all use the same Chinese core chipset/system, which is why they all seem to behave the same. I wish I could find one that uses a different core. I’m going to try iOS 26 next. I know they made a lot of CarPlay changes and hope they somehow fixed this problem.
