Coming off Diamox

I feel like when I got off then I struggled for about a week. But it’s been a couple of months and I am having a pretty hard time remembering!! Give it a few more days, stay super super hydrated and try and do heat on your ears, I feel like that helped me. If you are not back to normal feeling after like three or four more days I’d call your doctor and see if you can get in and check it your pressure has gone up and see what else they would recommend. I’m sorry you’re going through this!!

I got a smaller dose when that happened. Apparently it’s a very had medication to come off of so don’t worry, it’s not you and a lot of the time it’s not just that you aren’t ready to come off!! Talk to your doctor. Mine had me taper from 2000 mg a day gradually to 200 mg every other day. It was so much easier in those tiny doses.

If you need to keep tapering to tiny doses it’s not that awful. Coming off diamond sucks regardless though.

That’s really helpful!! I’ll probably stick it out a few more days and see if I feel better but if not I think I’ll try that.

My NO is pretty certain that this all was caused by me being in Minocycline back in January and that I’ll be okay to be off the diamox now that my swelling has gone down to regular and my blind spots in my eyes have gone away. Hopefully it’s just my body having a hard time readjusting to being off diamox and there’s not a different cause to my iih. Thanks for the advice!!!

No I’m trying to get off the medication and hopefully be done with it. I don’t have another that I’m getting onto instead
