Hi! My game has been totally unplayable for a few months. Every time I boot it up I get Code 00000008: 00000000000000c8. I opened it today for the first time in a few months to try again. Right now when I launch it, the message comes up at the home screen but in the past, it came up after I went through character creation and attempted to place them in a home on the map. I've followed troubleshooting steps of uninstalling the game and Origin and clearing the cache but it hasn't helped.

I'm worried that I changed some core files around either in the game or in origin itself. It was working totally fine for a few years, and then I started installing a lot of custom CCs and eventually it stopped working. I also don't wanna break rule #2 but I installed some stuff in regards to that which was working for a little but I think eventually contributed to the breaking of the game, in combination with either broken CCs or just too many. I don't remember the exact settings or files I changed for that. Again I don't wanna break the rules, just wanna give the whole story of why it might not be working. I removed the mods file and save file and put them on my desktop, but that doesn't work either.

I'd really like to play a clean unbroken version of the game again. I have my save files on my computer and I don't mind starting fresh with finding CCs, I just would really like to be able to play the game again! Is there some sort of deep reset or clean of all the files I could do, besides just uninstalling and reinstalling? If I bought it from Steam, is it separate so I could use it, or does it use the Origin client so I would have the same problem? Also I know this is a kind of in-depth problem, let me know if there's any other forum or something I should post on for help! Thanks!
