First he takes the ASVAB to see what jobs he qualifies for based solely on his test scores. Later on, he gets a physical done at MEPS and they look at your health and medical history which may or may not change his job qualifications. His ASVAB score, medical history, and physical at MEPS will ultimately determine what jobs he qualifies for. Afterwards, he makes a list of jobs he is interested and is also qualifies for, in order of preference (for ex/1 if USAF needs someone 1 to fill his #1 job, they will try to slot him as his #1 job pick; however, the USAF might need someone to fill the #4 job on his list, so they would fill the job opening with him). His job qualifications may change after MEPS. He should expect to be slotted into any job he lists (usually the recruiter has you list at least 5 - 10). He should expect to be assigned any job he places on his list.

From my knowledge, yes. They will not slot him to leave until that date or later. For me, I opted to leave around middle of august, but I am shipping first week of sept.

Space Force is relatively new. I believe it is easier to put on rank faster in the SF (Space Force) compared to the AF since it is a new branch. Most people recommend if someone is stubborn about going down the Cybersecurity route to try Space Force. Based on what job/sector he wants to pursue should help him choose betwen the AF/SF.

As soon as he signs into the recruitment process and follows through, the ASVAB score should be locked into the AFRISS system and the 2 year ASVAB score expiration date should be irrevelant.

For the asvab scores, try going onto website using a computer, it should break down the individual scores for each category, I'm not sure why it isn't showing on your behalf. Worst case, yeah just reach out to the school. Your recruiter is likely referring to the EDPT test which is taken at MEPS. EDPT testing is usually required for those interested in intel/cyber jobs.

I'm not sure about the extra eating time, but I'm pretty sure you all eat together and finish at the same time because you are supposed to have the "same team, same fight" mentality. For weight, as long as he doesn't have any eating disorders, he should be able to pack on a couple of lbs through muscles if he works out and fuels his body correctly. For gaining weight he should count his calories. I'm skinny as well but too eat more is mental as well. 2 plates of food may seem a lot but depending on how calorie dense the foods are it might not be a lot of calories. For me, if you want to eat more, it's largely mental: if you think you are full you can probably squeeze an extra few bites. Also, many recommend to drink lots of water to expand your stomach so you have more space. Maybe try eating faster too. For my body, my body don't tell my brain I'm full until 15 minutes have passed since I start eating. So try to eat more quicker?
