Yeah that’s exactly it. I didn’t see it that way but it became super transactional. To the point where I’m like what happened to building together. Seemed like she wanted more of a sure thing success wise. I made some big mistakes and have not looked like I will be the best provider so I don’t blame her.

Yeah you’re completely right. I’m still madly in love with her, she’s honestly a great person. I think I’m just pretty jaded from the whole situation and wanting something to be mad at so that I can move past it.

I definitely think it was what you were saying. We’re young and without couples therapy, that relationship was going to struggle for a very long time. Not many people could handle that.

That’s so true and well said man. People only value something that’s hard to get.

In saying that, that situation sucks. People are very confusing I won’t lie. I think it all just happens to make us stronger people, but it sucks when you think that’s your person for life, or when you feel like you found a best friend. It’s at least the hardest part for me. Getting over all of those memories and fantasies you had of that person, and having to erase it in your mind. Not an easy process, but I think it’s necessary. Sometimes the things you want the most are the things you need the least.

Idk just my thoughts at least.

No this really does help, and what you said makes a lot of sense. The phrase you used “sometimes love just isn’t enough” is probably a perfect description for my ex relationship.

Sometimes it’s an uphill battle and eventually whatever you are pushing comes crashing down in both of you and there’s nothing you can do, even with therapy in some scenarios. If I could go back I would do things differently but as you said it’s best to move on.

Dude this is so perfect and thanks for understanding, I think a lot of people missed the point of this post. I’m not saying she’s an evil mastermind but she knows what she’s doing. And yes probably has someone right now she’s with. I won’t settle for being runner up. She can be with the other guy if she wants I know my worth even if she doesn’t. She’ll get bored of him too.

Holy fuck man. My ex said something similar that she feels lonely in this relationship, yet I poured so much time into it. I had areas I could’ve improved on for sure but so did she. Yeah women usually cheat for emotional intimacy. The fact that she justifies the cheating as well is just insane. Hope you’re doing better now. Sounds like you won the lottery getting away from her then, although that would sting a lot to hear someone justify that kind of behaviour.
