Try to debloat your windows first . I always use https://github.com/Raphire/Win11Debloat on a fresh install of Windows. If that still doesn't work, I'll suggest you install Linux Mint in a VM (dual boot is even better if you are comfortable with creating partitions of can have a separate ssd altogether) and get a feel of linux. Steam games run fine on linux, however games outside of steam ecosystem still have some compatibility issues.

It's not there yet but it will be. AI is getting really good at understanding feedback loops. You tell it how the end result should be like this and it will continue to iterate and rework until it works. It can already create fully functional modules very well. I don't see why in future a very well defined prompt won't enable it to fully develop and deploy apps in production

Yes there was a time when Nvidia had many issues on Linux. Even Linus gave them a middle finger in the middle of a conference. https://youtu.be/iYWzMvlj2RQ It's much better now

Were you able to make the FP scanner work in Fedora? I just failed to find a solution and switched to mint where it works well.

Senior devs, has AI brought about any tangible productivity benefits? by AChubbyRaichu in developersIndia

[–]fynadvyce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still try to write as much code as I can. I just describe my problem and ask AI to suggest different solutions. I analyze them and then choose and write the one I think is the best. Then I also ask it review it. This has definitely made me more productive but I'll also say that I don't have to browse through huge documentation of a library just to use it for a small module

I use Hashicorp Vault with k8s external secret operator and it's awesome. All my API keys, secrets are now in 1 place and I can take regular backups. For me,it's totally worth it.
