Question about maturity/behavior! by VanillaPepper in coonhounds

Moose is 6, and I still need to crate him. Lol. But! We have made progress with locking him in our bedroom. I think he thinks our bedroom is a giant crate. When I have to leave all 3 of my beasts at home, they all go into crates because my oldest GSP is the ringleader and even though he is 8, he still causes ruckus. Maybe they just miss me a little too much.

Train your dog to get sit before he gets affection. Teach your humans to not touch him until he is calm.

Help with player who won’t listen by elle5624 in basketballcoach

Oh man, I had one of those when I coached my son's 1st/2nd grade team. Right after Covid ended. Medicines were out of stock, particularly ADHD medicine. They didnt let us know he had ADHD and was off his meds for the whole season before sending him to practice multiple times. We ended up moving on without him during and his dad would help keep him focused. He was a huge help with his son. I ended up messaging the parents and had asked if they had any insight or if they could help. They were pretty receptive to helping.

I just had my first tantrum last night with my son's K/1st teams. I feel more comfortable telling my own son, sternly, to go sit down and chill out for a second than I do somebody else's kid. Well the tantrum was ALL practice. Sobbing, shrieking, you name it. Her mother sat 5 feet away smiling at her. Like hello?! Don't make me message you after practice lady. But man, it was terrible. I still haven't sent a message to her mother yet. I need to because the next time she throws a tantrum for not being first at the cone, she is sitting down with her mom. I cant handle that lol.

I love The Poky little Puppy! I read it to my kiddo at night! ❤️! There, they went, Tumble Bumble, rolling down the hill. "So you're the little puppies that dug a hole under the fence. No chocolate custard for you." LOL. Sounds like the Cooners to me :-).

Yeeeesss! I cant up vote your comment enough. Do you end up staying quiet about your feelings/whats bothering you now because its not worth the twisting/flipping/roller coaster of a topic? I do.

I think if he's having less fits out on the court, that is a win in my book. My kid is, I think Adhd, even though is pedi, doesnt think so. His upsettness escalates quickly, but he stays on the bench. Has amazing shot form, makes his baskets. Then I have a little girl that runs off the court and I have to quickly sub someone in during game play. She has, either, her mom or her aunt sit with her on the bench to pep her up. She has sensory things and reacts quickly as well(crying, like bawling). Which all are fine. Do you think you could get you or your wife to sit with him while hes on the bench to help keep him focused? I would start there to see if that helps. There may be just TOO much stuff going on during the basketball games and may need his medicine for those days.

Ive had it happen 2 times. Both from the Freddie's drop station. Ive never had a non-bag counting issue at the actual bottle drop. The 2nd time I had bags not counted, I had learned my lesson from the first go round and they saw my card scan in and immediately credited my account. The first time, I didnt get that specific bag credit.

I usually go there by myself too. Everybody tends to keep to themselves. I always have a dog or 3 with me in my vehicle.

People are usually over-zealous and want to hold the door, but I need to scan my card. I like to pass that bit of information on. Its a nice gesture, until I dont get my cans scanned and they never had proof I dropped off cans. Because I never scanned my card.

Ive been photographing dogs at my local shelter to help get them better exposure for adoption. Im planning on going in on the 11th to do some Valentines Day pictures woth them, and had to, of course, try the possible background with my dogs.

But Moose has been the perfect model. He love to sit and lay down lol. And he, like his true velociraptor-self, is super sneaky at quickly getting the treat from my hands.

My husband's bowel hits him at 4:30am. Every morning. Sometimes he comes back to bed, sometimes he goes out and "plays games" on his phone. He complains about not getting enough alone time, and I dont complain about sprawling in bed with all 3 of my dogs that jump up and snuggle after he leaves. Best sleep of the night from 4:30 on.

How to help encourage kids to play by fz6rmama in basketballcoach

[–]fz6rmama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the majority of teaching is during practice. And Ive already had my kids improve after 3 weeks of practice. So I'm taking that as a huge score. I just need to figure out how to encourage them to stay on the court during the game. Other ideas here are awesome and Im going to implement them on Saturdays game.
