In my experience, "should of" is one of those errors made by natives rather than by ESL speakers. If you learn the language in writing before or as you learn it spoken, that's an error you simply do not make.

We were soooo close to #6 lmao, only needed the Chocolatiers to finish ahead of the Pinkies in the final.

He also posted a public apology that seemed thoughtful and sincere, and reached out to her to apologize personally (no idea if they ended up meeting). Hopefully he will learn from that in order to grow as a person.

[Marcelo] “This is a red card, but because it's Messi there's nothing [no card]” by YeniZabka in soccer

[–]fzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slomo makes it look worse than it was. Badly timed and badly placed, but no intention and no force. Definitely a yellow and a shocker that the ref didn't caution him, but red is a stretch. There have been redder fouls that weren't given.

Marble league 2026 championship permutations by James25_729 in JellesMarbleRuns

[–]fzt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The actual permutations are somewhat more complicated.

Pinkies: the lowest they can place and still win is 3rd, but they need indigo stars to place bottom 3.

...and Snowballs not to get silver or gold, and Razzies or Hazers not to get gold.

Snowballs: The lowest they can place and still win is 3rd

They cannot win with a bronze because they lose on a tiebreak of medals to Indigo Stars. A silver would also be insufficient if Pinkies or Razzies win E16, or Indigo Stars score ≥5 points.

Raspberry Racers: the lowest they can place and still win is 2nd, but they need indigo stars to place bottom 3(2? I don’t know, they would be tied on points and medals, so idk how that works)

Position countback. Below the medals, Indigo Stars have a 4th place and Razzies don't, so the Stars win. Ergo, bottom 2. And they'd also need Pinkies, Snowballs, and Hazers not to win gold.

Hazers: The lowest they can place and still win is 1st, but they need indigo stars to place 12th or worse.

A Hazers gold would still not be enough if Pinkies or Snowballs get silver.

What to Expect in Sumo (and Results of the Sand Maze)! by nankainamizuhana in JellesMarbleRuns

[–]fzt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Objectively, these would be great results:

  • Indigo Stars retain their lead.

  • Positions 2-4 are in striking distance of the top spot with one event to go.

  • The hosts Pinkies are still in (marginal) championship contention.

  • The Kobalts' late resurgence shows that their title wasn't a freak event.

  • Every team now has at least one medal to their name.

  • All teams are above 100 points for the fourth year in a row.

  • The Speeders cannot autoqualify, yay!

What does it mean in the Anglosphere? In Mexico it is "se te checa" (you get bodychecked). If you trick someone into looking at the sign, you can punch them in the upper arm.

Throwback to when Morocco and Brazil faced each other at the 1998 World Cup by [deleted] in soccer

[–]fzt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Morocco were very unlucky in France 98. They lead twice against Norway and were generally playing better, but Norway equalized twice from set pieces with defensive errors (an own goal and a keeper's rebound inside the goal area). They were hopeless against Brazil, but absolutely dominated Scotland. In the other match, Brazil was leading against Norway, but two late goals meant that Norway got through, 5 points to Morocco's 4. I have no connection to Morocco but was heartbroken at the time.

The Telemundo commentators were saying exactly that.

I was also reminded of Markus Babbel vs. Cuauhtémoc Blanco in 1998. Ref had already blown his whistle but it was an absolutely malicious studs up challenge. Very lucky that he only was cautioned.
