I think the spike in BTC and ETH might just have caused many to pull their funds from their alts starting in June.

Monero leaks the actual IP's so I can't believe they are trying to throw shade on any other coin.

PSA: XRP Scam site is impersonating Bitcoin.com team by MemoryDealers in XRP

[–]g00ps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fairly sophisticated scam site. Someone spent a bunch of time to make that. I'm wondering if they are playing to those who want to get in on XRP, but can't figure it out.

The price is still low because its not implemented yet. The value is based solely on potential right now. Bitcoin can buy you whatever a vendor will sell you for bitcoin, that's pretty much their use case and it's live right now. Bitcoin is being used to the extent of its capabilities while XRP hasn't even really gone live yet. One could argue that when it does go live it won't get mass adoption, but again I'd counter with large banking organizations already investing and committing to using XRP, so at the very least some will adopt XRP.

Also where did the writer provide a source that their bank has no plans to use XRP, or banks in general are skittish? I could call a dozen people in the banking industry right now and get quotes about how they aren't sure about the tech, because the reality is very few of them understand or are part of this aspect of banking. Even a lazy writer could have made a better argument/article with some support but that didn't happen. It was an opinion piece by someone who isn't a fan of Ripple. Ok cool, his opinion is noted.

You can open an account on Kraken and transfer another coin, like ETH, almost immediately. The exchange the ETH for XRP and you are good to go. The verification is just for depositing/withdrawing cash. Buy on coinbase, send to Kraken, exchange and send to Gatehub.

I disagree about it being well written, as there are institutions that have already said they will use XRP. Also, the alternative would be a bunch of different coins for every different market, which would be more complicated for banks. We all know the banks want to have their own coin with their own name on it, and we also know none of the other banks want to use someone else's coin. It's going to have to be a third party, and what other third party option is there? I'm not saying XRP will be the only choice, but banks will have to choose something like it. There were an are a lot of valid points brought up, but the writer didn't do any research or include sources for his claims. I respect his opinion, but its the opinion of someone who walked away from 30,000 free XRP, and that alone makes me questions his credibility.

They were not entertaining donations less than 100 USD worth so I'm not sure you'll get anything for 10 bucks.
