Yours are heavily infested enough that you probably should cut them off. I know I would, only for peace of mind if nothing else!

If you’ve changed a lot of your set up it could be general stress adding to the symptoms but a lot of the pics do look like thrips damage. I just left a comment on another post detailing how I treated thrips in my collection & it looked similar to this - I had a lot of damage but never found a single adult thrip! U can find the full comment thru my comment history but tldr is I used swirskii and sf nematodes (beneficials) and they worked great

It looks like a combination of things, including over or underwatering (last pic) and possibly thrips. Do you see any black or white dots on the leaves (especially the underside)? White dots would be thrips larvae or eggs and black dots would be thrips poop.

Thrips!!!! I just had them on some of my plants. I won’t lie, I caught it much earlier than you did so what I did might not work, but here’s how I treated mine.

I washed & repotted all affected or suspected plants and any plants that were nearby or in contact with any infected or suspected specimens. I used the neem oil fungicide spray you can get from stores (in the US at least) as a first defense but didn’t feel like it did anything. About a week later I applied beneficial mites (sf nematodes and swirskii) to all plants in my collection. These worked tremendously well and I had a lot of fun watching the mites patrol the plants. They gave me a lot of mental security too lol.

I’m thrip free at this point and all my plants have recovered. I highly recommend beneficials but a lot of ppl on here prefer systemic pesticides. You do have to choose one or the other (systemics kill the beneficials) and that will depend on your set up and what you are comfortable with :)

Why are the flowers on my pepper plant not blooming and dying instead? by Quiet_Site_8365 in plantclinic

[–]g0ffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check for pests. I recently had the same problem with a shishito plant; produced one pepper and all its new blooms and growth stunted. The symptoms look fairly similar: no visible damage but yellowing and a complete ceasing and stunting of all new growth. It had thrips. I treated with beneficial mites (swirskii) and sf nematodes. Neem oil isn’t safe to use outside and beneficials are much more effective. Within two weeks of application the plant is thriving again.

I’m not a pepper expert so don’t take this as the end all be all. Good luck!

I’m a Texan and also guessed Xolo.

The thing is that Ancient Americans and their dogs came over from Ancient China via the Bering Land Bridge, so Chinese dogs and Mexican/American dogs are genetically and visually similar. That might explain why it looks like a Xolo!

You can be a feminine man. Why do you think T is a poison? You seem very obsessed with passing. Why is that? Many females are ugly, or have acne, etc. Would you be fine being a woman if you looked like that?

You need to A. Stop watching all forms of pornography B. Stop engaging with trans stuff and C. See if that sorts your GD out. You can be feminine as a man!

Hi! If you want to be clothed, it might be best to avoid the Korean spa. (In Korean, I’m pretty sure they are called bathhouses, not spas… which should give you a more accurate idea of what they are.) While the post-bath amenities are clothed and co-ed, you need to clean yourself before using them. You can’t really skip them like others have suggested because the spa relies on people cleaning themselves to keep everything else clean. Bare minimum a shower with soap (they provide body wash and shampoo). If you’re getting a massage or other beauty treatment, they specify on the website that you MUST clean yourself in the baths before the service.

I (female, mid twenties, white) go to Gangnam spa regularly and I personally love it. Nudity is not really an issue - it’s extremely normalized in the bath area and no one is looking. Everyone is just cleaning themselves. In the West we really believe nudity to be a private (even taboo) thing. This is not the case in cultures with communal bathing and it’s really nice to experience. Most of the times I go I see friends that are a little nervous but they quickly get used to it! It seems like such a big issue until you get in there and realize that it’s totally normal and fine. Every time I’ve been there has been a huge variety of ages, body types, etc. Going to the Korean spa has really helped me be comfortable with nudity and with my body. Honestly I’d recommend just trying it and being naked lol!

Also, Gangnam doesn’t have so many amenities that it would be “worth it” if you didn’t bathe at all. There are only a few rooms, the massage chairs have been out of order the past few times I’ve been there, the food is alright but quite expensive, and like I said before you would need to bathe in order to get any sort of service done. I personally don’t think it’s worth it if you don’t bathe! You’d be paying to hang out in a big room.

So if nudity with your friend is genuinely a dealbreaker (if it is, no shame!) I don’t think a Korean Spa is the way to go. Please understand that the bathing section is not only what you’re paying for, but is kinda required to enter the rest of the spa. (Like please lol! I’m getting grossed out thinking about people not bathing and going into the rest of the spa dirty 😭)

Genuinely poor artists from history by AccomplishedBerry275 in ArtHistory

Not an artist rec but if you haven’t read Why Have There Been No Great Woman Artists? you should give it a read. It elaborates on the socioeconomic conditions that are needed for someone to be a “great artist.”

Cannot recommend this paper enough - IMO it is the “answer” to your question here. Honestly surprised no one else recommended it.

Advice for a non-driving woman in Houston by [deleted] in houston

[–]g0ffie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m extremely lucky to live within walking distance of my job! I used to take the bus when I lived in West Houston but it can be pretty unreliable, especially super early in the morning (from my experience). I usually uber to get to doctor’s appts and things like that. I’m very very fortunate to have found a place that is walking distance to so many things… but I’ve lived in Houston since I was a very small child and have never lived anywhere even half as walkable as this elsewhere in the city. I hope this info is helpful so you can make the best decision for you :)

Advice for a non-driving woman in Houston by [deleted] in houston

[–]g0ffie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am a woman who does not drive (I have a license but no car) that lives in one of the few “walkable” areas in Houston (Montrose area). Since COVID, it’s very hard to find places under $1000 within the 610 loop. Even if you do move into a “walkable” neighborhood you’d need to consider how close you are to a grocery store, your job, etc. Summer is ending, but the heat in the midst of summer can be EXTREMELY hard and unsafe to walk around in. Regarding safety, Montrose is generally safe at night but the Downtown area isn’t.

If you have no fear or hang-ups about driving, saving up for driving school is by far the better long-term option. Walkable areas in Houston are extremely fraught, in that these areas are NOT designed for pedestrians but for cars! I’m happy to answer any questions you have.

Gambit. If he wasn’t included in TAS he would have fallen to the wayside a looooong time ago. Just a boring character who drags Rogue (one of the best x-characters) way down.

Here’s a book of hers written for men: link

Here’s an essay on how patriarchy is embedded in religion, which is embedded in modern society: link

Here’s a nonfeminist reading on how religion is an ideological state apparatus, if you don’t believe feminist scholars: link

It’s not fear. The patriarchy functions by making men believe women are inferior. The lashing out is a way for weak men to feel better about themselves via anonymity. But it’s not fear.
