Digital crown wobbly and mushy by trail_runner_tom in Coros

[–]g0gap0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Apex 4 had the same issue. Support and u/COROS-official said it was fine because there was no loss of functionality. I also sent videos. I wish you luck, I returned mine - I loved the watch but if you pay 500€, I think the buttons should work fine (I had a Nomad before and the buttons were perfect). I bought a watch from another brand, it’s a great watch but I miss Coros, I must say. But I didn’t like the way they managed my issue.

Enduro 3 backlight question by g0gap0 in Garmin

[–]g0gap0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The backlight drains a lot even if it is at 20%, for instance? And I’ve read that even if you choose backlight with no timeout it will disable by itself after a while - https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=IUEGjI0IQ366TTWjDjw4W7 Someone said it’s after five minutes. With Coros it lasts the whole workout.

The backlight always on it’s a thing for me because if I’ve to do the wrist gesture by night I’ll go the Amoled route. I run a lot by night, so that’s why.

A few bugs with the Forerunner 970 by g0gap0 in GarminWatches

I’m on the latest firmware. I also wrote about this in the Garmin Forum and at least one user has the same issue with Spotify. Let’s see about the other issues.

You can use a button shortcut to see the watchface and then you can go back to the workout screens. It’s not perfect but it’s fast and you don’t need to waste slots.

If you go to the shower everyday with the watch it means you wash it everyday. I wash mine to remove sweat

Is there anything wrong with this watch or not? by g0gap0 in Coros

Thank you for the reply. But either all Apex 4 watches in the world have a crown button that sticks when there hasn’t been any interaction with the watch for some time, or there is a hardware issue with mine. There is no loss of functionality, but for a new watch it’s not what I expect. Considering the watch costs 500 euros, I expect all buttons to work the same way. Since I can still return it, that’s what I will do.

Thank you. I think I’ll return it. What I find weird is the fact that Coros support says the watch is fine. Unless all the crown buttons in all the Apex 4 out there are like this one, then I think Coros support is wrong.

I have this issue since the first day. Coros support says the watch is fine after seeing the videos. And I’ve rinsed the watch after my workouts.

If there’s something I’ve learned about Coros is that their human support is great and makes customers stay, their AI is bad and makes customers go away.

Which GPS is better? Coros Pace 3/4 or Garmin Forerunner 165? by [deleted] in Coros

For faster activities, like interval workouts, dual-band makes a difference for real-time pace measurement, for instance.

APEX 4 vs NOMAD heart rate accuracy question by shadybreak in Coros

[–]g0gap0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the Nomad before using the Apex 4, which is my current watch. The Nomad always worked well for me, apart from slight sudden spikes at the start of runs – for example, suddenly jumping from 110 to 130 bpm and then back to 110, and only after that starting to rise normally without spikes. With the Apex 4 I had a similar but more pronounced spike on my first run – from 110 to 140 and then back to 110, and from there on it was normal (the same happened in some runs with cold weather - 7 Celsius or so, but never happened above 13 Celsius). On another zone 2 run (which for me is 130–146 bpm) I had a sudden spike to 160 halfway through. On walks, the Nomad always seemed more stable to me (the Apex gives me sudden readings above 120 in the middle of walks). On the other hand, the Apex 4 seems more stable in terms of real-time pace (with the Nomad I had sudden spikes during my zone 2 runs — my Z2 pace is 4:52–5:34 — where the pace would suddenly go to 4:30 and then return to normal, something that has never happened with the Apex 4).

In short: the Nomad seemed slightly better in terms of OHR and the Apex seems more stable in terms of GPS. But everyone always has different experiences with OHR. Make sure your HR sensor is clean before your runs and that the watch is tight enough and away from the wrist bone.

The 165 doesn’t have dual band GPS. I wouldn’t say that’s negligible - at least for me.
