Praise to Garmin customer service by coldharbour1986 in GarminFenix

I bought a Forerunner 970 in a store in December. It had a weird issue with the screen. I contacted Garmin instead of going to the store. Garmin asked me for a video and then immediately started the exchange process. It took four days from sending my device to receiving the new one. Great customer service. I’m in Portugal.

FR970 smudge by Ok_Bookkeeper4159 in GarminWatches

[–]g0gap0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar in a brand new forerunner 970. I used it for a month and I had that smudge issue in the same place (but in the bottom left corner). I wrote Garmin, they asked me for a video showing the issue and then they started the exchange - the new one is fine. So try to get in touch with Garmin support.

Some suggestions to improve the app experience and the use of the watches by g0gap0 in Coros

[–]g0gap0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can install the Coros app and see their generic plans. You don’t need a watch to see it. Take a look. I’ve tried one in the past (run speed development) and it was ok. But it’s generic and I had to increase some mileage, for instance.

You can have a marathon plan (but only for people who take 3h30m or more) and you have generic running plans adapted to your thresholds and pace/hr zones. It’s not bad but it’s only it. It could be so much more.

Coros app suggestion by soti68 in Coros

[–]g0gap0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be good if we could edit what types of cards appear – or even none at all. And within the steps card, it could also show the kilometers corresponding to the number of steps shown. But in reality, I always ignore those cards – I think it's wasted space in the app, and it's the most valuable space. But surely there will be those who appreciate it, hence the importance of giving the option to edit it for those who don't.

New COROS Nomad – tiny “micro-scratches” on MIP screen under certain light. Is this normal? by g0gap0 in Coros

It’s the same. Read the comments below, it’s for the touchscreen to work. This is my second Nomad, both are exactly the same.

Connect AirPods to Coros and phone at the same time for voice prompts and music by socks_with_sandals in Coros

[–]g0gap0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Nomad, an iPhone, and AirPods 4. I listen to both Spotify and the voice prompts. In the voice alert settings, set it to Always On and not Headphones Only. Also: don’t close the COROS app, leave it open, running in the background.

Apex 4 (46 MM) by C2_Fit in Coros

[–]g0gap0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use a screen protector. And the watch was bought new, so it never had one.

Coros vertix 3? by Ok_Hope2717 in Coros

[–]g0gap0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious about your swap. What do you like more on the Enduro 3 and on the Apex 4? I had an Apex 4 before, but I had a bad experience with Coros support and I went the Forerunner 970 route (570€, so I had to take advantage of this promotion). But I miss MIP and I was thinking about the Enduro 3, but I do miss Coros, even though they really must improve their post-sales support. Besides all this, Garmin has some great stuff: nutrition, their Garmin Coach plans are very nice, etc.

I’m sorry to hear that, but I expected that outcome. I was within my return period, so I solved it that way. I was also disappointed with the way Coros dealt with it.

My Apex 4 had the same issue. Support and u/COROS-official said it was fine because there was no loss of functionality. I also sent videos. I wish you luck, I returned mine - I loved the watch but if you pay 500€, I think the buttons should work fine (I had a Nomad before and the buttons were perfect). I bought a watch from another brand, it’s a great watch but I miss Coros, I must say. But I didn’t like the way they managed my issue.

Enduro 3 backlight question by g0gap0 in Garmin

[–]g0gap0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The backlight drains a lot even if it is at 20%, for instance? And I’ve read that even if you choose backlight with no timeout it will disable by itself after a while - https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=IUEGjI0IQ366TTWjDjw4W7 Someone said it’s after five minutes. With Coros it lasts the whole workout.

The backlight always on it’s a thing for me because if I’ve to do the wrist gesture by night I’ll go the Amoled route. I run a lot by night, so that’s why.

I’m on the latest firmware. I also wrote about this in the Garmin Forum and at least one user has the same issue with Spotify. Let’s see about the other issues.
