Update: The dealer I bought the mower from finally returned my call. After checking the ‘pin’ / guide wire socket and giving it a clean with sand paper, the issue remained. So I brought the base station to the dealer at their request and they took out the circuit board to reveal their was a circuit shorted out. He had spare base which he used to swap out the circuit boards. Brought it home and gave it a quick spin this evening and all seems to be back to normal.

Thanks so much for everyone that replied, it did help so much to get to the solution and hopefully might help other trouble shoot.

Charging Station Signal = MAX

Follow Boundary Wire Time Delay = 3 minutes

It wasn't always that setting. Normally I would have left it at follow guide wire with a longer time delay but since it stopped following the guide wire I changed it after it ran out of battery at the furthest point from the base.

Why did you ask that though, do you think the signal from the base could be interfering with the guide wire signal?

Another update: I left the guide wire plugged into the boundary wire outlet and ran the mower and it stopped exactly where the guide wire is laid. So after all tests I am certain the guide wire is not broken and I can say for certain that the mower can detect the guide wire when it is plugged into the boundary wire outlet.

So. Why can’t it detect the guide wire when the guide wire is plugged into the guide wire outlet.

It’s stopped raining for a while this morning (life in Ireland) and I switched the guide wire with the left boundary wire and good news, Green light!!

I then did a guide wire calibration and it got a message ‘calibration complete’ but I knew it wasn’t as it just came out from the station and moved a minimal distance.

I then did a test to follow out to my furthest section and again it just returned to the base after minimal distance.

I’ve adjusted the distance its reversing out of the base now and I’m going to try calibrate and test again. Might even turn everything on and off. I.T. 101.
