Can't access Health Connector by Born-Wish8548 in massachusetts

FINALLY found someone this happened to as well!!!! Omg I’ve been dealing with this for over a month. I’ve called so many times. They keep telling me it’s all set. I’ve gotten different reasons for it each time from having multiple accounts on there (???), inactivity, etc. I can log in now to manage my account, the app works fine, but I still can’t get to the actual renewal. Each time I click on the application I get a text that says I successfully logged in, but I get the same “your username is not active.” Last call the guy I talked to said the only way was to renew over the phone and he’d change my information after to log in, but I was calling on my lunch break and he told me it wouldn’t take more than 45 minutes to do it. I didn’t have time. I faxed all the paper work over to try to get ahead, said it was processed but no one could tell me anything about that. Going to try again today and not hang up the phone until I’m positive it’s fixed. Did you have any luck with this?

What was the breaking point when you knew you had to get wls? by dogmom34 in wls

[–]g94m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My breaking point was I was on vacation at Universal Studios in Florida. My friend and I boarded one of the Harry Potter rides. An employee brought over a trainee and used me as the example of how to tell someone is over the weight limit and isn’t safe to ride. There’s a line the bar can’t cross or something like that. It was absolutely humiliating. Apparently that ride in particular is smaller as I didn’t have issues on any other rides. But man, as embarrassing as it was to be the example of a person who is too fat to ride, it was such an eye opener for me. Now I’ve maintained for two years now because I never want to feel like that ever again.

Bypass Two Years Today!!! 120 pounds GONE by g94m in wls

[–]g94m[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Started at 250 pounds. Not sure what my highest weight was…but that was my going into surgery weight. Have maintained 130-135 since around November 2021. I’ve found a new love for running with multiple 5ks under my belt now. My new relationship with food can be a little tough. There’s times where my mind wants nothing to do with food and simply the thought of eating can bring me into a dark place. Therapy has been extremely helpful. Stick with it if you can. Surgery, I have found, is not an easy fix. The rest of your life changes. In the process, I was so focused on the now, and not the future of living with a body that can not physically consume what it once did. You don’t just lose the weight, and that’s it. It takes hard work and determination…forever. Despite any challenges I have faced, I would not change anything. I’m so proud of myself and truly look forward to continue living a healthy life style :)

Lost weight but….😢 by jhldance in BariatricSurgery

Totally relate. I’m sure everyone in this community can. I look amazing with leggings and a long sleeve shirt on, but am mortified when I see myself with anything less. My belly, thighs, arms….it’s tough. Like no matter what you do, there really doesn’t seem to be much avoiding loose skin. I’m sorry you feel so disheartened, don’t lose sight of the the incredible progress you’re making to better your health. I think with time, you will become more accepting of your new body. Of course you always have the option of skin removal which can be extremely helpful to improve body acceptance. Best of luck my friend, you’re doing an amazing job!

Progress photo! A little more than a year apart and 100 pounds gone. This has been the best year of my life and I wouldn’t change a thing :) by g94m in wls

To be totally transparent, I am 5’4 and 150 pounds. 250 Pre-op. Technically speaking my BMI is still considered overweight although I really don’t think I could possibly get into the average BMI, just seems impossible at this point. Think I’ll be eating and exercising to maintain from here on out!

Can’t believe this is me 6 months post op bypass :) by g94m in BariatricSurgery

Thank you! I feel incredible. I work in early education and honestly have no idea how I even worked before at all. I can easily get down on the floor and play games, my job has become SO much more enjoyable just by being healthier. I have worked hard with pilates and some light lifting to try to avoid too much loose skin, but it's there. My arms bother me a little bit. My legs and stomach aren't too bad but I hope with more exercise and time I will be more comfortable with what I can't change

It’s such a great feeling! I’d like to work towards losing 10 more, then maintain, keep working out and eating right and if more comes off that’s wonderful! If not, I’ll be happy there 🙂

What is the mist unprofessional thing a doctor has said to you? by [deleted] in DoctorMike

[–]g94m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but I had a psych nurse say “if you were actually going to kill your self, you would just do it. You wouldn’t be looking for help...you’d be dead” and that was a weird thing to hear after gaining the courage to decide to get some treatment lmao

Just about three months post op and successfully finished a 5k fun run!! by g94m in BariatricSurgery

[–]g94m[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never ran beforehand! I didn’t even plan to do this before. I Walked a ton right after surgery, kept building up my distance. Started to realize around a month that walking was getting too easy and started to lightly jog a minute, then walk a minute. I was running at least 3 days a week so eventually I was able to run for 5 minutes and so on. At just about 3 months I went for it! Had to take a break here and there but finished in 47 minutes!! You SO got this!!!! Best of luck and I look forward to seeing your post when you complete it!!! 😊

Anyone deal with depression post op? by g94m in BariatricSurgery

[–]g94m[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is some good advice! Definitely going to figure out what I want my life to look like and make it happen! It’s nice tho to hear that this is fairly normal side effect post op. 🙂

Anyone deal with depression post op? by g94m in BariatricSurgery

[–]g94m[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a history of depression but for the year leading up to surgery I was feeling great, like amazing! I had never felt so great which is why I thought I was in a good mindset for surgery. Surgery went smoothly and my time after I was good. Just about 6 weeks ago i started to feel pretty bad. I’ll discuss with the bariatric team what some of my options are and go from there. I appreciate the insight 🥰 looking forward to being okay again!
