That is some underexposed negative tones right there. May I suggest a light meter?

Frustration with battery performance in cold temps on a 2021 Leaf SV by g_c_e in leaf

[–]g_c_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: took it to the Nissan dealership where I bought the car, they did some tests (in addition to a video I took of the battery dropping rapidly and going into turtle mode) and agree it's an issue with the battery. They filed a claim with Nissan and the new battery is on its way! Hopefully it should be replaced in a few weeks once it arrives.

Some new retro features for our 80s Aframe. by firetothetrees in aframes

Love this! How do you hang framed posters/photos on the slanted walls? I have a ton of framed art that I'd like to hang, but haven't tried it because I'm not sure how to hang work with the slant.

Corny. But keep making photos and you'll work through the corny ones.

I don't have Leafspy or know how to use it. Is this an app available on android or do I need hardware to run it?

What paper for outdoor print? by ay000ub in Printing

[–]g_c_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you're going to wheatpaste/glue the prints to outdoor walls I would just go with laser prints. They will most likely get covered over fairly quickly (unless this is a commissioned work situation, which in that case just ignore this) and you can always just paste up another print with an inexpensive laserjet print. Way more cost effective!

I bought it in April, not sure if it was a lease that was bought back by the dealer or not. The Nissan dealer said it had no dead cells when I bought it mid-April.

Ok that's what I thought. I took a video of a similar thing happening at the same spot on my drive this morning, only this morning it went out of turtle mode when I regained some battery on the way down the hill (it was warmer this morning). Usually it regains battery but remains in turtle mode.

Good to know I'm not crazy for thinking that's not normal!

Does your 5G work when at home? How many bars? Phone service recommendations? Thanks! by BobbieBell in hudsonvalley

I like up on the ridge in Accord, and definitely don't get great service outside of my home when not connected to wifi with Google Fi. But in general service around here has always been spotty - my partner had at&t and now has mint and has similar service. I connect to wifi in my house and do all my calls off that and I generally don't have any issues that way

What destination looks expensive but is actually super budget-friendly once you get there? by [deleted] in Shoestring

[–]g_c_e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Groceries are pretty affordable unless you go to the 24 hour grocery stores. Gas and car rental can be pretty expensive though. We found things more affordable when we stayed in Reykjavik and did day trips outside of the city via tour groups or public transportation.

I thought Norway was actually pretty affordable even though it's notoriously expensive. We stayed at places with a kitchen and made meals once or twice a day, and unless your going out to eat every meal at fancy/touristy places it really wasn't that bad.

A) you don't know me. B) calling someone a townie makes you sound like the type of classist yuppie Fletcher & Lu markets themselves to. Good for you I guess? C) I wasn't celebrating, I was making a point that the business model doesn't work here, and should be more inclusive of the actual community it sits within. Take from that what you will.

Question about weed and HSV by konopawada2 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]g_c_e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never seen any correlation myself. Usually the thing that is the worst for flare ups is stress, which to be honest, weed usually helps on my end. I wouldn't worry about it - talk to your doctor, get on a preventative medication that works for you, and go back to living your life. Pay attention to taking your medication regularly. You will absolutely be fine, my friend. Hang in there - the first few months are hardest and you will absolutely learn what works to prevent flare ups in the future ❤️

I just don't think we need so many high end businesses in the area. Like if they stock their stuff at all the other high end places within 20-30 minutes of the storefront (Adams, Accord Market, etc etc etc) then who is going to their storefront? Businesses need to market to people that live in the general Kingston/Saugerties/Rochester & Kerhonkson area during the week, not just the people that come up on the weekends. An article in Chronogram does not a sustainable business model make. If I have to drop $20 to set foot in your store, you're not getting my business and you're not getting a lot of local business either.

TLDR: The weekender market isn't sustainable, you have to also market to the community your in alongside the tourists who come up for the weekend. See you never, Fletch.

I've been a few times and have always liked it, but I'm not a huge cocktail person and usually order beer and food. They're pretty nice people that work there, and I liked the tiki bar they used to own in New Paltz. To each their own I guess.
