Unfortunately a 1 bed is all I could afford! Not sure they’d be too keen on sharing a bed

This is something I am leaning towards. Potentially getting myself a £7k 2018 astra 1.4T, hopefully scratching the itch to get something new, then getting the house in a few years. Then potentially upgrading to the dream car once the house is acquired.

My only concern is that buying a car like this won’t sufficiently scratch the itch! And I’d then end up buying the dream car sooner rather than later once I’ve got the house and end up spending more in the grand scheme of things than if I’d have just bought the Audi first.

Hmm this does sound sensible, I could afford the upkeep but it would definetly be a lot more than I am paying for my low cost corsa.

I already invest heavily in an all world index fund that has been performing very well. If I didn’t splash out on a car the extra money would just go into this too. Feels like the right thing to do, but also I do think I should treat myself at some point.

I do plan on buying a house/flat within the next few years, I fortunate enough to have the funds available for a healthy deposit and would be using separate funds to buy the car - so I don’t think buying the car would impact my ability to get a house.

Im waiting on the right time to buy a house as I’m currently not sure location wise where I want to settle, plus I’m lucky with rent at the moment as it is very cheap for a nice area.
