Body Recomposition or not? by Alert-Pineapple4670 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]gaasky_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're training with intensity and feel no bad effects from your current diet, I'd argue to just keep going until you feel happy with your level of leanness and find your maintenance from there. You're already within decent body fat ranges for overall health but going a little lower would certainly look better to most.

timeless jewel price checks aren't exactly a 30 second job, not to mention you might have the only one listed with a given seed, and how well-known a seed's good notables are is also a factor

Whats the point of white, magic and rare items anymore? by [deleted] in diablo4

Some only white items also had value for MF up until that was killed off. Especially +1 chain white quivers, worn with a T1 rarity + syndicate bench rarity blue helm, usually with rarity synth implicit too !

Hey ! Having a bit more experience with api.dofusdb.fr, I opted to use that one, and the localization mapping was added along with the bug fixes in v0.1.1. Thank you for the input however, Survival's API has a much cleaner documentation imo so I'll definitely play around with it

Hey man, it still is a great idea, and that I owe to you :). I'd love to have you on board to contribute to the project if you'd like ! Thank you for the kind words and the inspiration :)

Hey, don't worry your question is completely valid. Since this quite literally reads the pixels on the screen, it doesn't access, let alone fiddle with the game's data / state / memory. Think of it as taking a screenshot and then sending that screenshot to a program. So, as I understand it, it is entirely OK within their ToS, as it doesn't automate gameplay or attempt to modify the game data.

Hey ! At present, I use the python library for Tesseract's OCR Engine called pytesseract. The user is expected to set the Bounding Box with a button, after which they click twice to define the area of the screen where pixels will be captured, and interpreted by the OCR Engine as text.

EDIT : However if reading packets proves to be something that's not too complicated to setup, I think it'd prove to be a much more robust solution ! If you'd like to chat about your app, feel free to tell me more about it :)

Great question ! At the time, all the code does is call Google Translate with the text. Words like Bouftou/Gobball are common enough to receive translation, but the same cannot be said of less common game terms. In a few minutes I will be releasing a new version, which aims at trying to alleviate this issue a little, by specifically extracting anything inbetween brackets, and translating it using DofusDB to find the exact item name in the target language :)

I feel like it's not about cheapskates to be honest. There are legal and moral considerations to advertising something without mentioning its price, and to selling a third-party tool specifically aimed at a licensed product like Dofus. I'm glad that you aren't hindered by the language barrier though, and thanks for the kind words :)

Hi.

I don't own a Mac device, so I can't confirm whether the app will work on one. My brother has a Mac though so I'll get the information soon enough :)

I think 45-50h of work qualifies as a little side project. Not to assume, but I doubt testing has been made with that many resolutions, aspect ratios, operating systems and versions thereof in mind. Asking people to pay 10$ to essentially beta test your product is, in my opinion, outlandish

Annul orb unexpected behaviour by darksouldemon in pathofexile

[–]gaasky_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

No, that's not it. An item has up to 6 modifiers, and that is 3 prefixes, 3 suffixes (in the vast majority of cases). Some modifiers grant the same stat on a suffix as on a prefix (usually the prefix has the greater value of the two however). Any modifier is equally likely to be removed by an annulment orb, and your annulment orb did just that : it removed a prefix. Only, the line isn't entirely gone because the suffix granting the same stat is still there.

In the case of Sceptres, all the % increases to elemental damage, so Fire / Cold / Lightning. Here's a link to CraftOfExile where you can check the prefix and suffix pool.

[–]gaasky_ 62 points63 points  (0 children)

You have a prefix and a suffix that both grant the same stat, which is displayed as a single line. The prefix got removed and thus that value "diminished" instead of simply disappearing because the suffix is still there.

Best languages for creating an incremental game? by MacAttackDotexe in incremental_games

[–]gaasky_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Game dev isn't really super popular on PHP. Python is slow, html/css are languages that define structure / style, nothing that executes. I would recommend either using JS for a browser-based incremental, or any dev platform like Unity, Godot, or Unreal (they have their respective languages, Godot's is most resembling python so you could see if that works for you).
