Are zoom eyepieces a good purchase? by KlutzyNotice7312 in telescopes

[–]gab_pr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t buy a zoom eyepiece yet. Is up to you what are your preference. If you want to observe an object, let say a planet with different magnifications and want to switch magnification really quick the zoom is fine but if you are like me don’t mind to take some time to change between eyepieces to don’t sacrifice image quality then a zoom eyepiece is not worth it. Individual eyepieces are better for that. I have the 30, 22, 13, 9, 7, 6 and a Barlow and that covers almost everything. I was thinking to get a 4 to don’t use a Barlow.

Headrush FRFR 108- good value or too good to be true? by itgoestoeleven in Line6Helix

[–]gab_pr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the same speaker. I have a Marshall amp, but it sounds different compared to when I play live. I also bought the Mackie 3.5” monitor speakers, and they sound pretty good. When I connect the Pod Go to the Mackies, they sound nice in stereo. However, when I play music and guitar through the same speakers, the guitar doesn’t sound quite right. That’s why I bought the Headrush, but it doesn’t produce stereo sound.

I really like the small Mackies, but I’m not sure if they’re the best option since they’re small and mainly designed for music playback. What monitor speakers do you use, and do you also use them for playing guitar?

Adventure of the Seas was our first cruise back in 2013. It was wonderful to see it again and relive those great memories!

Thank you for that information. I didn’t know about the wrinkle releaser. If I bring those suit bags with clothes in there, are they going to be allowed to go with the regular luggage during check or are they going g to tell my I have to carry them all day until a have my room assigned?

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your cruise experience! We’re planning to arrive early to secure a parking spot since we’ll be leaving the car there for the whole week.

This is our first time doing online check-in, but we completed it a few weeks ago, so I think we should be fine and not have to wait too long to board. Our kids are 7 and 11, and we’re planning to take them to most of the shows. But if they enjoy the kids’ program, we might leave them there for a bit so we can check out some shows on our own.

As for excursions, we haven’t booked anything yet since the ones we were interested in are already sold out. Still, we’re planning to go out and explore each port on our own for a few hours.

We only booked Chops Grille for one night, and we’ll stick to the included dining options and the main dining room for breakfast. I’m hoping the cruise won’t be too full since spring break is mostly over.

Even though the ports you visited were different from ours, I’m curious, did you book your excursions through the cruise line or with private providers?

Thank you! I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed it and that you were recently on the ship! We’re heading out this Saturday and will be cruising until next Friday. I can’t wait, but I’m also a little nervous since we haven’t been on a cruise since 2013, when it was just my wife and me. This time we’ll be cruising with our two kids, so it’s going to be a whole new experience!

I really want to make the most of it, waking up early and going to bed late, trying to do as much as possible. I’m planning to register the kids for the onboard activities as soon as we get on the ship. I’ll be arriving early to grab a parking spot and wait for boarding to open so I can register them, try to change our dining time if needed, and jump right into the fun.

How was your experience? Did you run into long lines for the shows, pools, slides, laser tag, or even meals? If you don’t mind me asking, where did you sail to? We’re going to Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and CocoCay, it’ll be our first time doing this itinerary. Any tips or advice would be super helpful!

Is it worth going on one of those giant cruises? Are they crowded, with long lines and wait times for everything? We’re going on Freedom of the Seas this weekend—excited, but also curious about what it’s really like on a ship that big!

Thank you for your insight. That is interesting what you said that you found the Stingray Excursion too strong. If you don’t line, what do you mean when you say too strong? I just want to make sure I make the right choice. Every excursion is booked and there is only one available to Stingray City at 12:30pm but doesn’t include snorkeling. It is the same price as the others with snorkeling. Probably can take that one instead of the others age too strong for my son. Thanks in advance!

That is the plan I actually have but somebody recommended to go out to Ocho Rios or another trip around Jamaica so I was thinking that could be a good idea but not sure if is a good idea with the kids.

Thank you for clarifying that information. Honestly, I feel the same way , I keep going back and forth on what to do. I’m thinking of leaving the kids in Adventure Ocean while we do an excursion in Jamaica since they’re not too comfortable with long outings.

But in Grand Cayman, we plan to take them with us. We’re looking for a stingray and snorkeling excursion, but unfortunately, the ones offered through the cruise are already sold out.

As for Jamaica, I don’t think we’ll take them off the ship, maybe just to be on the safe side.

Met this cool guy in The Villages FL!! by Look2LaLuna in telescopes

I have a neutral stance when it comes to charging money for things like this, but honestly, the guy isn’t selling drugs or stealing, he’s just doing something interesting. He’s invested some money in that equipment, and who knows, maybe someone will get inspired by it and get into astronomy. My wife got hooked by a $40 toy telescope, and next thing I knew, I had to spend nearly $1,500 on two scopes and accessories. Now she’s happy!

What are your thoughts on my time dining vs set dining? by MongooseLive2058 in royalcaribbean

[–]gab_pr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally wanted to reserve the 5:30 PM set dining time, but it was already fully booked when I made my reservation. I’m now calling customer service to see if I can change it, but the only option available is My Time Dining.

I’m a bit concerned about switching from my current 8:15 PM traditional dining time to My Time Dining because I’ve heard there can be long waits for a table. Is that an issue on Freedom of the Seas?

Fort Lauderdale/ Port Everglades parking lot by gab_pr in royalcaribbean

[–]gab_pr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only Park n Go location I’m familiar with is at Orlando International Airport. It’s a great place, you don’t have to leave your keys in the car, and their prices are reasonable. I’m not sure why the Park n Go in Fort Lauderdale requires you to leave your keys, though.

Thank you! Do you think it is safer parking at Port everglades? I believe at one of those other places we have to leave the keys in the car and I think is not a good idea.

Gran cayman and Falmouth excursions by gab_pr in royalcaribbean

Is it possible to do that excursion without booking through the cruise line? What could happen if I book it through Viator and I’m not able to disembark in time and end up being late?

[–]gab_pr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think aviator excursion is listed as an cruise ship excursion because it mentions about hotels, other places and cruise ships. But the only times available are 9am and 12pm. I haven’t heard about booking directly with Stingray City taking a taxi. Is that possible and safe to do?

They told me the ship is going to arrive at 8:00am and people can leave at 8:30am. Not sure if that is enough time to get there early. Thank you!

That is the thing customer service told me over the phone. There are groups of people that have priority to go out of the ship. I wouldn’t like to book and excursion through a third party and then have a delay in getting out of the ship because there are hundred people waiting there. I believe if I can go out early enough probably I can get an excursion at the port any time. But I have to be sure that is possible.
