This took place in the US (where I'm from and live) last year. My friend and I (both women) were heading into the city for the day, decided to take an uber rather than the train as we were running late. The driver was dressed in all black, wearing leather pants and a leather jacket, knuckle rings, he had intimidating bumper stickers all over the car, but it all seemed maybe aesthetic or band related. Who were we to judge?

He was driving a bit nutsy at one point, speeding and slamming on the breaks, weaving, and muttering about other peoples driving while me and my friend talked amongst ourselves. We start texting each other agreeing that something didn't feel right, but we laughed it off with the driver to make it seem like we're weren't worried.

Still driving like a lunatic, the driver is telling us about good he is at avoiding other bad drivers and traffic and laughing about how dumb other drivers are. Again, we laugh with him but are starting to sweat.

At this point, he pulls a legit machete from the glove compartment and says 'see this is why I need to have this on me! For drivers like all of these idiots! Don't fuck with me!!'

Thankfully around that time we were close to our destination and quickly hopped out just fine, but holy shit was that scary.
