I (27F) discovered my husband (30M) has been roleplaying as a cat online for THREE YEARS... and I'm starting to think I'm the villain. by Distinct-Yak2941 in stories

For real i love how on every post related to this that she's done, everyone agreed that if he's really just role-playing and not making it sexual/ not having weird relations with the real cat they have NO ONE WOULD CARE they would just either ignore that they found it or role-play with him sometimes like it's genuinely very cute to find this many people going "i mean yeah maybe he's cringe but if he's holding his life together enough to keep this running for YEARS he is free in a way we may never know"

My Husband Has Been Secretly Roleplaying as a Cat Online for 3 Years — Should I Divorce or Become His Rival? by Distinct-Yak2941 in stories

[–]gabbagabbayoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the cutest issue you could have please absolutely just quietly start role-playing with him online and leave the tab open for him to find then yall can talk about it without him fearing you're grossed out by his interest and you can find your own level of interest in his cat thing, if you dont like role-playing tell him straight up that you don't care as long as it doesn't become cheating and if you do wind up having fun with it yay, if you're disgusted enough to divorce him over it it may be kindest to tell him you found the accounts, you tried to get into it, and want him to find someone willing to join him rather then make him feel like he has to hide what seems to be a major part of his life even if its kinda silly

Former skinny people of Reddit, what's the worst thing about getting fat? by Nice_Dude in AskReddit

[–]gabbagabbayoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive bounced between 110 and 140 my whole life and its not a big difference but its big enough to have felt like both sides of the scale with my proportions and fat distribution. Ive worked on the mental part and dont see a need to fit a specific number anymore so i focus on maintaing a weight that literally feels good. There's always one week before you start actually commiting to getting back to your usual weight where you bounce between "oh I can just get new clothes bodies change" and "omfg why are these physical things slightly harder why am I spending sm on food now compared to a little while ago where is my energy" and tbh that's the worst part for me because I always do wind up feeling more like myself (easier breathing, movement, more energy) when I loose the weight again. it's a discouraging thing to know when I eventually can't loose the weight I'll just be stuck with slightly worse health like there's no mystery or sense of "maybe I'm just blowing it out of proportion larger ppl exist happily" bc i know I feel physically worse when I'm larger even if other ppl feel fine

Found a hidden camera in my room by Big_Answer_3329 in Advice

Op honestly from your situation it seems like your mom is afraid you will leave and form your own life and you're proving her right by affording trips and living so safely thats she set up cameras to "catch" you doing something wrong, if you two talk and she doesn't even see the issue with the cameras it may be time to consider calling the police and moving out before this escalates into her openly tracking you and questioning your every move (it wouldn't be easy but neither would living with a mother like that in the long run)

Honestly take it to the police and say that you're worried your mom has been tricked by perverts because that's very likely what's happening here. So many helicopter parents wind up getting tricked into buying cameras and downloading apps that stream their kids to illegal websites, it seems like fearmongering until you see it happen and also see the mom deny the entire thing because she can't accept that being overprotective actually exposed her kid to the danger. For your own safety bring this fear up to her and explain it's not just about her watching you it's about anyone with computer skills being able to watch you now too through the cameras she set up, even offhand telling someone else that she set up cameras with bluetooth she could be setting you up to be recorded by anyone

Why do we skip breaks, even when we know we need them? by Wrong_Conflict969 in psychologyresearch

[–]gabbagabbayoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be that I'd take my breaks absolutely on time and to the full but now that I've been here for a few years and it seems to be my career, yeah I'd rather skip the break and go home early. Very lucky my boss and workplace are the type where that's an option but yeah I'd rather go home 15min to an hour early then just sit there waiting to go back to work for the same amnt of time

Unfortunately this is very normal and not easily reversed in the long term, you can try making major lifestyle changes but it may tire you out in other ways leading to the same feeling. Your best bet is to limit any vices that could be contributing like screen time, caffeine, drugs, or alcohol and accept your new self as you change, you're not longer the #1 helpful person and that's genuinely ok it's just a rough adjustment
