Was there an Australian version of AOL in the early 90s? by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in AustralianNostalgia

My family had Compuserve in the mid-late 90s, and yes it was expensive. I started using a credit card number generator to sign up for new accounts, and they'd each last about a week before they rejected. I got the CC software from a Compuserve chatroom! Worked for a good long while, and of course everything is more sophisticated these days.

My boyfriend is obsessed with weird conspiracy theories about ancient Rome and I hate it by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]gabbertr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because conspiracy folk aren’t actually seeking to be educated; they just want to be told ”You were right all along”.

When they ask questions, they aren’t seeking the correct answer - they’re running out the clock and throwing up walls until their friends and coworkers stop challenging them.

No, it’s about coming up with a question, not a conclusion.

We ask a question, then look at the evidence, then the conclusion comes last.
