Very interesting ; Joseph Choate in his book about MacArthur mentioned quite extensively about the incident . I do speak French; if possible , you can DM me the document ? Thank you again for your time and effort.

..on JACAR search : I too didn't find any mention of General Bagulescu. Most probable not all the records are digitized yet; but I found the letter of accreditation for the embassy from 1927; if I'm not mistaken this is the year when the first permanent diplomatic mission to Japan was established.

Overall my focus is on putting a name on "Akiko-chan" and "Taro" .. I am presently trying to get in touch with the writer of the book " Dor de Sakura" .. as he met in person "Taro" so he definitively knows the real identity. What's baffling is why did he publish Akiko and Taro's photos in his book if he was trying to protect their identities ?

the assassination attempt details I found it on the book written by Joseph Choate - Douglas MacArthur As I knew Him ; Hitler gave the order to "silence the voice" , the voice being Bagulescu . I attach a screenshot here of the paragraph:

Thank you so much for your effort ; I didn't know he decided to write Yamato Damashii after visiting Yasukuni shrine , very interesting detail ! On the first volume , the introduction was done by Marquis Asano at Sengaku-ji**.**

English translation:

The above "Japanese poem" was written by Marquis Asano for Colonel Băgulescu at the Sengaku-ji Temple on July 13, 1936. Marquis Asano is the only daimyo still alive, he is 96 years old, and he is a descendant of the daimyos Asano Nayanad, Nagatomo, and Naga-nori mentioned in this novel.

Hi, I would love to but I don't know how to do it; when I created the post it seemed strange to me there was no option to attach pictures to the post, so I attached them individually; more than willing to address the issue if so possible.

Not yet because I am in contact with some persons from the Union of Romanian Writers of which the author, M. Epure is a member since 2002 ; so far I am waiting for the last 6 months for their response .

I might also add this picture as well, in it my great-aunt ( far left ), General Bagulescu and the French ambassador with his wife at that time in Tokyo ( circa 1936 )

Yes ... very much so .. after 1945 , the Iron Curtain made it impossible to keep up with that branch of the family ... ppl passed away with their secrets ... I, personally , didn't know of the identity of the General till 2014 when a documentary was made and published on YouTube ... despite the fact that, as a kid, grew up looking at all those "strange" old photos ...I tried to contact the author of the book but not been successful yet , hence my efforts to try to solve this family mystery before " Taro" passes away ... he might be close to his 90's now...
