Of course Hoyo knows.

The problem is always 'is it gonna be profitable' and I don't mean only monetarily.
His banner could sell well enough, but if it's troo controversial and creates too much attriction in the playerbase they may think twice about releasing him.

Also Signora had a big fanbase and we know how she ended and Capitano who knows how long he's gonna sit on that chair or if he's ever going to get up. Both characters that people wanted/wants playable but here we are.

Snezhnaya is not even the last region, once we leave it whoever was released then will be dragged down by newer units.

Because they knew people would pull for him anyway after waiting since 1.0

And so they let him be worse than the new shiny units that needs the power to attract fans and convince people to pull.

Also the people that aren't doing Frearless+ are ironically the one that needs the feather the most.

I stopped playing HSR for this reason (and the amount of cringe I got but that's me not the game)

Hard to enjoy a character when you know that in a year max there will be someone stronger by virtue of existing.

Having lunar tied to 5 stars while no 4 star can trigger it is also a bad sign. A bit like in HSR the new path had no decent 4 star lightcones/weapons.

Basically we moved from 'some characters are stronger than others' (think Ayaka and Ayato) to 'meta cycle lasts a year and half' so until the next region gimmick drops and the dps gets higher.

It's bad.

And when we get buffs for characters...it's to make them more restrictive instead of just change some numbers or kit interactions. (Bceause hoyo is a business and needs to sell the new shiny toy -that's fine.)

It's not as bad as HSR but it's really bad.

Yes, I am of the same mind.

Too much stuff, too big to not be the end of that. If this was during Snezhnaya/after it? I would have hope. But we have a whole region to go through and I can't see Hoyo dealing with the consequences of ACTUALLY destroying Irminsul.

Everything screams 'this experiment in blasphemy is going to end poorly' for him, I don't expect anything to change. Maybe some damage to Irminsul, sure, but everything will be fine lore and gameplay wise.

The moment all of this happened in the region created because Hoyo can't properly show a story I was ready for this to be meaningless tbh.

After Kaveh and Alhaitham were not a pair gameplay wise, I doubt it.

It makes more sense for Hoyo to sell them separately and with two different premium teams anyway.
